When I walk into the main Dining hall I see a table full of presents before a large group of people pop out from all different places and scream "Surprise" then everyone rushes to give me a hug and say "Happy Birthday." Everyone hugs me being careful not to mess with my hair or make-up. When everyone has hugged me, Isabella leads me over to a chair next to the table and Josh follows and stands behind me with his hands on my shoulders.
I select a small rectangular box that's wrapped in white wrapping paper with happy birthday written all over it in different colours. I open it to find a platinum charm bracelet with a heart charm, an eighteen charm, a star charm and a sea turtle charm, all of which are titanium as well. I look at the card and see that it is from Josh and turn and give him a hug and a kiss on the cheek before carefully putting it on the empty table that is on the other side of the chair. The next present I pick out is a medium sized box wrapped in gold wrapping paper, I check the card and it says it is from Steven, when I open it I see that it is full of books, when I look at the title of the first one I see that it is a copy of "Love, Rosie". I flick through the rest and see that they are all romance novels that I have been wanting for a while. I quickly give him a hug and a thank you before putting it with the other present. I slowly move through the rest of the presents until there are only three left. The first one is a present from King Ian and when I open it I see that there are two dresses the first is a beautiful dove grey shift dress with a high neckline and the other is a white panel dress with a pale pink polka dot pattern. The other present is from Prince Zach and is a set of diamond stud earrings set in platinum. I look back and forth between Zach and the earrings for a couple of seconds.
"This most of cost you a fortune, Zach," I blurt out when I finally am able to speak.
"Its fine, I wanted to get you something extra special for your birthday especially since it's your eighteenth and that's an important birthday," Zach explains to me.
I give him a hug and grab the last present which is small box with a card on top, I open the envelope and see that it is from my biological parents telling me that it is a family heirloom. I open the box up to find a porcelain musical carousel and when I pull it out I see that it is pink and white base with spinning horses.
"Oh my," I hear Ian say when I turn the key in the back and see that it plays.
"What?" I ask looking up at Ian curiously.
"That is an ancient family heirloom among the Lascher family, it has been around for a long time," Ian explains in awe at the present. "I thought it was lost." He turns to my Mum and Dad with a questioning look.
"Olivia, gave it to me to look after in case anything should happen to her and Harry it would be lost, she also gave me instructions that if anything should happen to her and Harry I was to give it to Kayla for her eighteenth as her first family heirloom," Mum explains in a slightly weary voice like she is scared that Ian will get up her for hiding a Lascher family heirloom from him.
"Okay, I was just wondering where it appeared from. It was a shock since like I said it was believed to have gone missing when Olivia and Harry passed on," he tells us quietly.
Just then Chef George comes out and tells us that afternoon tea is ready and that we should get seated if we wish to stay on schedule for the rest of the day. We quickly head over to dining table and are served a delicious afternoon tea of scones with jam and cream along with tea and eat it carefully but quickly so that I can get ready sooner. When I have finished Izzy rushes me to my room to get ready. The first thing I see when I walk into my room is my dress it is a full length strapless ball gown dress that laces up in the back, the bodice is a gold silk with small flecks of gold glitter throughout it, the skirt is made of tulle with the same colour pattern as the bodice next to it is a pair of silver two inch high heels with a small flower on the top. After a moment I notice that there is two women standing off to the side of the room, one is tall with black hair and grey eyes and the other is shorter with brown hair and green eyes.
"Hello, Princess," the shorter of the two ladies says stepping forward. "King Ian sent us to help you get dressed for your party, Princess. My name is Tessa and this is Charlotte."
"Thank you," I say politely as they step forward and start helping me getting dressed for the party.
I stand there quietly while they help me get in to the dress, only moving when they ask me to so that I don't make a nuisance of myself.
An hour later I stand in front of the mirror staring at myself in awe shocked that I could look like an ancient Princess or Goddess. The skirt of the gown flares out from my waist, the bodice is tight in all the right places giving me curves that I didn't know I had, it sets off my skin tone perfectly.
"Okay, so we just have to do I finishing touch and you'll be perfect," Izzy says passing me a gold half face mask that has a pink eye shadow effect around the eyes.
She helps me put it on and I look at myself in the mirror and I feel very mysterious, I'm just getting over the shock of how I look when there is a knock at the door. Isabella races to open it and sees Josh standing there with Zach and Ian, when Josh sees me his mouth drops and he stands there in awe and shock looking at me.
