You often hear people put sadness and beauty in the same sentence, but there's nothing beautiful about sadness.
Depression is not beautiful. Depression is staying in bed for a week. Depression is holding yourself together for so long that you don't know how  to let yourself come apart. Depression is guilt. It's guilt about your mom hopelessly watching you grow more and more withdrawn and sad and you refusing to speak, even though it makes you feel worse. Depression is a ten pound block of cement chained to every limb of your body; it scrapes the ground around you, never letting you forget it's there. Depression is dark shadows under sad, tired eyes. It's a heavy heart and sagging shoulders. It's a gnawing reminder of the black clouds around you, and a hungry, empty feeling that's never satisfied.
Depression is not beautiful.
