I loved you and you lied

I loved you and you lied,

You were blind when I cried.

I thought it would last forever,

But, forever ended up being never.

I never thought you'd hurt me this way,

I never thought I'd hear the words you had to say.

Something that was good turned sour,

Tears fall from my eyes like a rain shower.

Neither of us has anything to gain,

Only more frustration, anger and pain.

Although we decided to be each other's friend,

Nothing will ever be the same again.

The heartache was unlike what I expected,

I only wanted promises kept and respected.

But some things are not meant to be,

Sometimes it's too late before our eyes open to the truth and see.
