The Dare

Takes place before Lucas goes to maya from last chapter.

Lucas p.o.v

Maya went up to her room after dinner and I'm still confused as to what she was hiding from me.

I was watching some tv when my mom called me over to her.
" hey lucas, come here I need to talk to you " my mom called. " coming" I replied as I started walking over to her. " so um, Maya's going back home in a couple days" my mom told me and I felt like my whole life had been turned over. " wh..why?" I stuttered. " um.. because it's over" my mom said. " What do you mean?, what's over?" I asked her. " Well you already know that who you thought she is isn't really her" she told me. " yeah, I already know that she lied" I said annoyed. " no, lucas, it was her mom and my idea to have her dress like a nerd and act like one" she told me. What is she talking about? " why would you do that?" I asked her. " Because lucas, we know how you are at school and we wanted you to change, so we thought the best way for you to change was for you to learn to be kind to someone different from you" my mom told me. " so it wasn't her fault that she had to lie to me, it was yours" I said. " yes, Lucas it was. And I know that you love her and was hurt when she told you that she had been lying to you" my mom said. " I do love her,mom. But she hates me now " I said. " go tell her that you love her and then come back down here" my mom said smiling.

I ran up to Maya's bedroom door and started knocking but she never answered. I just walked in but saw that she was asleep so I walked over to her. I looked at her and started talking even though she won't remember it tomorrow. "It wasn't a joke to me, maya, I love you and I always will " I said while bending down to kiss her forehead.

Back to present time

Maya p.o.v

When Lucas said that he loved me all I wanted to do was kiss him. I opened one eye a little bit and saw that he was bending down to kiss my head, so because he thought I was sleeping I grabbed the collar of his shirt and pulled him down so I could kiss him. His eyes widened because he was shocked but he eventually kissed back. We were making out for about 3 minutes until we separated completely out of breath. We smiled to each other and then I stood up and just left so I could mess with him a little.

2 hours later

Lauren was helping me pack my things because I was going home tomorrow. "I'm taking you to get the dye removed tomorrow " Lauren said.  " okay" I replied as I flopped down on my bed. She left my room and I went to bed.

Next day 

I just finished packing my things and saying bye to everyone. " you ready to go, maya?" Lauren asked me. " Yeah " I replied.

We were driving to the hair salon so I could get the red dye removed, I'm so excited. Lauren and I were joking about how Lucas wasn't going to recognize me at all after I go back to my old appearance.

We were at the salon for 5 hours because it took a long time to get all of the dye out. " and we're done" the stylist said as she washed out the last bit. Almost everyone it the salon cheered because I was there all day, it was a little embarrassing.

She styled my hair and then turned me to the mirror and I couldn't be happier. She then did my makeup and showed it to me, I guess I lied because I was some how even happier.

We payed and left. Lauren was driving me home and I couldn't wait to see my parents again.

She dropped me off and I ran inside and gave my parents a hug. " I missed you guys so much! " I squealed.  " we missed you to, baby girl" my mom said. " yeah, ok so did you really date lucas?, because that's what his parents told us and uhh.." Shawn was saying pretty fast. " yes, Shawn I did" I told him and his face turned pale causing mom and I to start laughing.
" you look beautiful, now why don't you go unpack and change out of those horrid clothes" my mom said making me laugh.

I texted Mariah and Riley saying that the plan was over and that we need to meet up.

We all decided to meet up at Riley's house in 20 minutes which gives me enough time to get a snack and then walk to her house.

I grabbed an orange and told my mom that I was going to Riley's house. She said it was fine but I just need to be home before dark.

I got to Riley's house about 10 minutes later so I knocked on her door,  she knows that the plan was over but she doesn't know that I already lost the disguise. Topanga answered the door but looked a little confused, she didn't know about the plan.

" um, how can I help you? " Topanga asked me. " Topanga it's me, maya" I said and she laughed.  " oh I'm sorry maya, you just look really different, please come in" she said.

" Riley, come down here!" Topanga called. " coming" Riley called back. When Riley saw me she was also confused, I guess she didn't recognize me, shocker. " um, who are you?" She asked me. " Maya, I lost the disguise " I told her. " oh well you're beautiful " she told me. " thank you " I replied as she pulled me to her room where Mariah was waiting. " Wow, maya, I know you said you didn't look like you did before but I didn't think it was a dramatic change" Mariah said and we all laughed.

"hey didn't you say your friend was here?" Riley asked me . " she was but she had to leave early because of some family emergency " I said. " oh" they both said

2 hours later

I just got home and I ran to my room so I could finish writing a song in my song book. I ended up falling asleep 30 minutes later so I didn't get to finish.

Next day

I woke up and took a quick shower. Once I was done I got dressed, did my makeup, and for once I actually did something with my hair.

I went downstairs and ate some cereal and grabbed everything I need for school.
I realized that I have to walk today because I don't live with Lucas anymore. So I left a little earlier than I normally would.

When I got to school people were staring at me, they probably thought I was new. I ignored it and went to my locker. I just remembered that I have choir today so Lucas is going to see me.

I walked into the half full class and sat in my seat and continued writing my song. Everyone was talking so no one noticed me until the teacher did role call. Mrs. Runge did about half the class and then she called my name. " maya hart" Mrs Runge said looking up. " is maya here?" She asked the class. " right here" I said while raising my hand. Everyone then looked right at me.
