Chapter Fourteen - Interrogation
Gabe had already had enough of Robert's bloody wound and he needed to step away, if even just for a minute. He saw Kelly sitting legs crossed in a chair right near where Carl was sitting. She had set her hammer down on a coffee table right next to her and was pointing her small pistol at Carl, being at great pains to appear threatening and confident. Carl just smirked at her when he looked up.
Gabe walked over and sat in a chair next to her, "Why don't you go relax, I'll keep an eye on Mr. Excitement here?"
As he said this he noticed how Kelly's large breasts seemed to be almost popping out of her strapless dress. She noticed him looking and smiled, "No, I'm okay. I can just rest here, but I appreciate the company."
"Oh," he replied, he actually hadn't had flirting with her in mind. He really just wanted to give her a break, not liking the idea of leaving her or any other woman there alone in the company of a potential killer.
She smiled and fidgeted with her crossed legs, batting her pretty brown eyes and pushing her chest up closer into his view. This made him smile a little embarrassingly. She held her gun up in front of her and one of her pumps slipped off her foot and she then dangled it by her toes.
After all of the trauma that he and the others had experienced this night, Gabe was absolutely astounded by two things: the first one being that no amount of killing or dead bodies seemed to quell Kelly's desire for male attention. The second shocking thing to him was his own arousal at the slightest bit of flirting by her.
"Nice gun," he offered, not sure of what else to say. He didn't compliment her appearance at all, but he didn't have to. His eyes had already done that. He then realized that he never really did make things right with Chloe, and now Kelly was after him again. What would Chloe think? Should he just give up on Chloe and give into his desires for Kelly? Shouldn't he be more concerned with getting off this island alive instead of hooking up with either of these chicks? That was probably the wisest move. But when a guy is having it thrown in his face like this, what else is he supposed to do?
"Thanks," she replied and the added, "I know how to handle guns."
It was sort of a sloppy double entendre, but then she was so gorgeous that it still worked. Gabe swallowed hard and smiled. He had never had a woman like this come onto him, though since he had spent most of his adulthood so far in prison, this was hardly surprising. Her face and body seemed to drip with sex. But he had to admit there was something that disturbed him about this girl. But whatever it was, it eluded him.
"May I?" he asked, opening his hand to receive the pistol.
"Sure," she replied, plopping it in his hand and touching his skin as she did so.
What is up with this chick? he wondered to himself. She certainly was beautiful and of course a bit funny. But she was shallow and quite callous and scheming. She had shown absolutely no interest in him earlier, when viable men were more aplenty, but once she had no one to follow her around, she was content to come between him and Chloe.
Gabe also recalled that she never did seem that upset around dead bodies. She made a show of getting sick around the maid, but she never seemed to be truly revolted by the corpses as some of the others were. She seemed almost amused by some of them in fact, or at least he thought so. He had even seen her cracking a lot of jokes at awkward times and making inappropriate comments.
