Chapter Twenty-One - Finalists

Bibi stood and then leapt down to her knees and grabbed the object, quickly pulling it out and getting to her feet. It was her own nine millimeter pistol. She stood back and pointed it at Gabe saying, "Now back off! Drop the axe!"

"Oh shit!" mouthed Gabe, complying with her demand.

Bibi quickly turned the gun to Chloe, who hadn't quite taken in what had happened yet.

"You too, sweetie," she commanded.

Chloe dropped the pan on the floor, "So you are the killer?" she asked.

"Whoever said I was the killer?" replied Bibi. She then pointed to Gabe, "This one here is the biggest suspect in my book. He was the last one to see Miss Flirty-pants here alive and the only one close enough to get to me."

"What?" cried Gabe, "I didn't do it! You know I didn't do it!" he then turned to Chloe, "Chloe! Tell her I didn't do it!"

But Chloe didn't respond.

Bibi continued, "You're probably telling the truth, Gabe. Which is the only reason that I don't waste you right here and now," she paused, "I'm sure the killer, whoever he is, is still out there. But still, I think I can only trust the two of you about as far as I can throw you."

She then reached down, still holding the gun on the other two, and grabbed one of the ropes that had bound her torso to the chair. She lifted the rope and called to Chloe, "Sweetie, come over here and tie his hands behind his back." She then tossed the rope to Chloe as she walked over.

"Come on?" replied Gabe, "You've got to be kidding me!"

"I don't have much of a reason to keep you alive, Pretty Boy," answered Bibi, "So stop complaining and do what you're told."

Gabe sighed and held still as Chloe took the rope and brought his hands together behind his back. She at first tied a simple knot around the hands once, but Bibi instructed her to loop it around each of the hands a few times and to tie it again and tight, until he was well bound.

Bibi then checked the room all around them and then instructed, "Now both of you walk in front of me, Gabe first."

Bibi picked up Gabe's axe in her free hand and had the two of them lead her back into the hallway. Chloe had to fish the flashlight out of Gabe's pants pocket and she used it to light the way until they got to the door to the master bedroom. Chloe opened it and the three of them went inside. As they walked in, the first thing they saw was Carl's dead body with the large pool of dried blood around his head.

They walked around Carl to the center of the room where they found Robert's body lying on the couch, with a hatchet sticking inside the back of his head. He was certainly dead and a nearly dry pool of blood was underneath his head on the floor below him.

Bibi became visibly upset at the sight of Robert, dead on the couch. Tears were in her eyes, but she didn't cry, she instead got angry, "So you two just left him here to die?"

"We didn't have a choice," answered Chloe.

"I couldn't carry him," added Gabe.

"Even if you're not involved in this thing," replied Bibi to Gabe, "You are one cowardly little excuse for a man, if I've ever seen one."
