"A dark world aches for a splash of the sun."

There's a burning question on both of their minds, consuming their brains and turning all other thoughts to ash faster than burning crumpled paper. Neither wants to be the first to ask, it's far too personal a question. How is one even supposed to build up the courage to ask, "why do you want to die?", and even think they will get an honest answer from a stranger?

"Why don't you get down from there, I'd love to get to know you more, it's almost morning now anyway." Josh says eventually to break the silence, tone soft and arm (that isn't holding onto the railing) stretched out slightly, as if ready to catch Tyler if he were to fall. He glances down, noticing how the first glimmers of sun are starting to reflect off the water and realising (with bones and mind aching) that the two have been there for at least five hours.

Tyler realises this too as he see's the first hints of a blood red, orange and blue sun start to rise above the water. He will need to either die or get home soon, and he thinks  dying might be a little selfish especially if it means leaving Josh to possible follow after - who wants to feel like a killer in their last moments?

"I'll get down if you do too." He pauses, eyes flicking over to Josh momentarily before adding an afterthought, "I can't get to know you more if you drown."

Josh nods in reply, sparing one last glance toward his watery grave before sighing and clambering off the railing, feet landing on the concrete with a soft thud. He offers a hand to Tyler, who reluctantly accepts and carefully climbs down after Josh; he tries to support his own weight as much as possible, seeing the pink haired man as more fragile than glass and almost certainly wobbling from keeping himself on two feet never mind helping Tyler.

Both stand still for a moment, thinking to themselves, I can always come back here later. They don't particularly register the fact that they probably just saved each other's lives... for the moment.
