It wasn't just physically tiring for Michelle with Markus at home twenty four hours a day, it also provided a psychological toll.
Markus didn't sleep the way Sonny did. Markus had two heads, two brains and two sets of problems. When Markus caught a cold, both would suffer, however one of Markus heads suffered with sinus problems and often snored, waking the other head who would provoke a complaint by awaking the other head. Their personalities were differing and they were frequently wanting to do different things, with one head in control of one side of the body and the other head in charge of the opposite, fights were constant and Michelle was sure that if Markus didn't experience a sudden death, he was equally likely to kill himself in an attempt to hurt his other side.
It was during one of these fights that Markus insisted that his mum refer to each head by a separate name.
Michelle had known that other families in the same situation had previously adopted this with their DPD children, however it had never occurred to Michelle, as she only saw herself as having two children.
Michelle was forced to reconsider. However, coming up with a name wasn't as easy as she perceived, as neither of them wanted to keep the name Markus and insisted on coming up with their own ones.
"Titus", "Jerome", "Jesus". Michelle was dumbfounded by their selections and desperately wanted to keep Markus, it had been her father's name and he had died before her children had been born.
Eventually, she came up with Marin and Kusin, whilst refusing to change the names officially.
