It took a long while and numerous meeting between Michelle and head mistress Prose, before the teachers felt that they could control situations involving Markus. These involved moving Markus out of the classroom to sit with a teachers assistant in a separate room, until he had calmed or Marin and Kusin had resolved their issues.
In the school the novelty of having a DPD child in the school had worn off among the children. Although, there maintained a consistent amount of teasing from a small amount of children, that didn't solely target Markus.
Sonny learnt who were his true friends and he was pleased that these included Basil, Wallace, Sophie and Rose. There were more of them that he considered in his friendship group and none of them were under any apprehension that to maintain friendship with Sonny, they also needed to be friends with Markus. This was easy for the before mentioned four, which is why they stood out as being closer to Sonny.
Sonny was mostly pleased by the fact that Rose maintained her friendship and got on really well with Markus, as he liked her more than he had ever liked a girl.
Basil and Wallace would encourage Sonny to ask her to be his girlfriend, but Sonny had yet to experience any form of affection or had any guide on how to treat Rose as a girl, as opposed to the same way he treated his male friends.
Markus was happier. It was the first time he had really experienced friendship and his best friend was also his brother and protector. He was also aware that his mum was less stressed at home and was able to spend more time with Sonny, instead of Markus monopolizing her.
