"Daniel, right?" Nia asked as she lent against the counter. Her deep brown hair falling from her shoulders.

He nodded as he continued drying off some dishes, "Dan. And who are you, exactly?"

She chuckled to herself and adjusted the dark purple frames that sat on her nose comfortably.

"Tania. You see that girl over there?" She said and threw her hand up, her thumb pointing behind her to a girl sitting alone at a table.

"Oh yeah, she comes in here quite often. She gets a coffee with milk and sugar," He replied with a smile. "What about her?"

"Can she get another one?" Nia gave up as she started to feel weird about talking to someone she didn't even know.

"Its on the house," He said with a small chuckle and slid her the coffee.

Nia looked up, a small gasp escaping her lips. Bur before she could thank him, he was gone. She furrowed her eyebrows and shrugged. Dan must not be all that bad.

"Free drinks? What is this a bar?" A voice said from over her shoulder.

She turned and looked behind her, a bit startled by the deep voice.

"Ashton," The brown haired boy stated and held his hand out.

She looked at him for a moment, as if  he was out of his mind, "What?" she spat out in confusion.

"I'm Ashton," He repeated and put his hands in his pockets. "I'm Dan's best friend."

"Dan?"

"The cashier?"

"Oh," She nodded. "The guy my friends been eyeing up for like a week. We've come here so many damn times."

Ashton laughed, "Ohh her! Shes really pretty actually. Dan's told me about her."

"I'm Nia," She told him and stood up straight, extending her hand for him to shake.

He smirked and shook her hand, "So your friends interested in my nerd?"

She nodded and looked back down at her friends coffee, "Do you think you could help?"

He thought about it for a moment, and bit his lip in thought. "Only if I can get your number," he said confidently with a raised eyebrow.

"Deal," She smiled widely as they exchanged phones.

"Text you later, I gotta catch up with Dan while hes still on his break." He explained before handing his phone back to her.

She waved as he disappeared off into the back room, a smile sat comfortably on her face. She was proud of what she achieved today; Usually Katie was her only social interaction. And she obviously wasn't one for talking to strangers. But his voice was just so soothing and fresh.

He just had one of those voices that made her smile. "The hell are you smiling for?" Katie interrupted her thoughts as she sat down beside her again.

She slid her the coffee and shook her head, "Just got some guys number."

"Bullshit," Katie replied wide eyed.

Immediately she proved her wrong; showing her the name in her phone.

"Jesus, I ask you to do one thing and you go and get some guys number. Was he cute at least?" she teased with a small laugh.

Nia nodded towards the counter as she spotted him. Katie smiled in disbelief, "How did you manage that?" She asked.

"Luck," she giggled as she watched him lean against the counter.
