"So what brings you here?" Dan asked as he stopped in front of the entrance.

"I was going to get my coffee," Katie chuckled and shook her head. "Why else would I be in a coffee shop?"

"Okay smart ass. I just got off work, still want a coffee?" He asked, raising an eyebrow and nodding towards to counter.

She shrugged, "Did you get short shift today?"

Dan nodded as they made their way over to the counter. "Hey its coffee girl," the boy on the other side beamed. "Be right on it."

Dan grinned as he paid for her drink, "Yep. Four hours."

She thanked the cashier, took her drink and followed Dan towards the exit. "Well that's good then."

"Do you need a ride home?" He asked abruptly, stopping as they neared the curb of the sidewalk.

Katie felt her heart speed up and her breathing quicken. "Y-Yeah sure sounds great." she stammered.

Dan smirked and grabbed her hand lightly, "C'mon then."

She gasped as she felt his smooth hand fit together perfectly with hers. A smile formed on her face as they stopped in front of a grey mini van. Dan let go of her hand and opened the doors for them to get in. "I wanna show you something first." He exclaimed as she got into the van, shutting the door behind her.

"What is it?"

"Cherry blossoms,"

Dan turned on the radio and rolled down the windows as they drove. Katie giggled as her hair flew everywhere. "Dan!" She squeaked as she scrambled to fix her hair. Eventually giving up and letting the wind blow through her golden hair.

Dan looked over at her from time to time. He didn't want to admit it, but she was ever so beautiful. Sitting there giggling as they drove. In that moment he was carefree. Free from all his stress. Free from his boyfriend. Free from life.

He slowed down a few minutes later as they neared a small bundle of trees. A path leading them mysteriously through the middle. "It's just down there."

They parked the van and headed out into the path. All the trees seemed to blend together after a while - their brown and muddy green colours mending together like paint in Katie's mind. She was about ready to give up, but after a few turns here and there they stopped where the path ended. Pink trees surrounded the area around them complete with little pink petals flooding the ground; the smell of flowers filling the air.

"How did you find this?" She gasped in awe as her arms fell to her sides.

"I was out on a walk. Just thought you'd enjoy it thats all." He said softly.

"Yes I did, thank you so much. This is beautiful." She said weakly, still taken back by the beauty of all the pink around them.

"I have lots of pretty places i find on walks, I'll have to show you some." he told her with a smile.

She looked back up at him a big smile on her face. "I'd like that."

He nodded. He knew fully well she would like it. Dan was a very observant person and always noticed the little things in people. Such as whenever Katie came in for her coffee she'd stare at the flowers on the counter while she waited.

Or how whenever she talked to him she almost never looked him in the eye. He wondered if she was just too shy, or insecure to keep eye contact with him.

But one thing was for sure: She was definitely worth looking at.
