Dan walked up the driveway towards the front door of their house. He paused for a moment before looking back towards his van.

What was he doing? Was he really going to throw all that he had with Phil away? For somebody he just met? Goosebumps formed on his skin, he couldn't back out of it now.

With one swift gesture, he brought a fist to the door and knocked on it lightly. He waited and hoped that he had remembered the right place, it would be embarrassing if he hadn't.

Suddenly the door opened, and a small girl peaked out from around it.

"Dan," She breathed.

He paused, trying to collect his thoughts before he spoke. His eyes traveled down from her short golden hair, to her ocean blue eyes. Causing him to stare a little too long.

He suddenly remembered why he came here in the first place. Katie's place was the perfect spot to escape for a while.

Katie smiled, a little confused as to what was going on. She didn't mind staring into his beautiful eyes, but she worried her friends would wonder about her disappearance.

"Come with me," he said softly, reaching his hand out.

"What?" She asked hesitantly before sliding her hand into his. "Where?"

Dan grinned, "Anywhere but here."

The truth was he himself had no idea where they were to go. But he knew that he wanted to be with her, if only for a short while.

Dan's heart started to pound steadily in his chest as he lead her to his van. His mind yelled at him that Phil would find out. But he didn't care, because technically they were just friends, right?

Katie was fairly quiet as the two of them drove. She wasn't sure where their destination was, but somehow she trusted him.

"Daniel," She started softly, mostly to just get his attention.

He looked over at her for a moment as they drove, "You can call me Dan, if you want."

She nodded, "Okay Dan, where are we going? I usually don't run off with strangers."

He sighed and opened his mouth to tell her the truth. But the sight of cheery blossoms caught his eye.

He pulled off and parked the car, a proud smile sat on his face, "I'm hardly a stranger."

She looked around and couldn't help but smile, "If you say so."

The van fell silent as they pulled into the parkling lot for a small trail leading through the cherry blossoms.

"We should come here more often," Dan hummed awkwardly. "I mean if you want to of course."

Katie giggled as she looked out in awe at the beautiful petals flowing in the wind.

The quiet causing Dan to stare for a moment too long, trying to fight the sudden urges of pressing his lips on hers. Unfortunately causing him to ramble, "If you don't like it that's fine, we can just go back if you want. I don't mind at-"

"It's fine Dan, It's lovely here. This can be our place if you want," She chuckled softly.

He nodded and cut the engine to the van in attempt to save gas. The sudden silence engulfing the two of them.

"So Phil... He seems nice," Katie said, trying to break the silence.

Phil. The name cut into him like a knife. He didn't want to talk about Phil, especially with Katie.

Dan sighed and turned to look out the window, "Yeah. He's alright, I guess."

"Is something wrong? I don't mind listening if you want to talk," She smiled warmly, putting a hand on his shoulder.

Dan gulped, maybe it would be better if somebody other than Ashton knew the truth.

"Well," he started. "First of all - thank you for texting me. It really helped me."

Katie bit her lip, unsure what he meant, "Explain?"

He blushed as he looked past her as he spoke, "You're the only normal thing in my crazy life. Actually being here with you now is just so surreal."

"What about Phil?"

"He doesn't have to know, please," Dan begged and turned his attention to her delicate expression.

She smiled softly, "What are you saying? Its not like were messing around or anything."

Dan shrugged as his eyes connected with hers like puzzle pieces. Finding it hard to fight the urge inside anymore, he leaned closer to her. He had to know what her lips felt like against his.

"D-Dan," she whimpered, stopping him just before their lips touched.

"Fuck, I- I'm sorry. I shouldn't have done that. I'm such an idiot," Dan cursed at himself as he leaned back against his seat, running his hands back through his curly hair.

"It's okay," She sighed, her heart pumping hard in her chest.

Confusion swirled in her brain as she tried to think of reasons why he would want to kiss her. Phil was a dream boat. Sure he seemed a bit pushy and a little overbearing but he couldn't be that bad.

Dan looked back over at her, his eyes tracing along her flushed cheeks and pink lips. He knew that it was wrong, but he had to know.

"But I- I thought-" she stuttered as Dan leaned in, his soft lips pressing to hers slowly.

Up until now, Katie hadn't experienced anything as soft in her entire life. It was the most gentle kiss that she had ever felt.

She couldn't bring herself to pull away as Dan moved his hand to her  cheek. His soft fingertips sending goosebumps down her spine.

How did this even happen so fast?

After kissing him back, she forced herself to pull away. Immediately burying her face into his shoulder. She had never kissed anybody as perfect as the boy before her. It was as if flower buds had formed in her mind when they met, only to bloom after their lips connected.

It was then he knew, that she was the one. He wrapped his arms around her gently as they hugged.

"Same time tomorrow?" He teased as he pressed his lips against her temple.

"Of course," she replied softly.

Dan only wondered what Phil was doing and what he would say about their argument once he returned.

But that was something he would worry about later. Right now he was all hers. Surely there was no way he could hide this forever. But he was willing to try.

Even if it meant keeping secrets from his best friend.
