Chapter 6:

Millie's POV

A week has passed since Finn came to my house. In just one week's time, we had become inseparable. We talked, we laughed, we listened to music, and so much more. He came to learn about my bipolar disorder, my depression, and everything that has happened. But the thing is, we only talked about it when I wanted to talk about it, which is all I could ask for. I hated when people constantly brought up my issues, but he did the opposite. He was always finding new ways to make me laugh, and I swear every time I'm around him, I forget about everything bad in my life.

"Finn," I giggled, "stop eating all of the batter!"

"Do you see how much extra we have?" He asked, holding up the bowl as proof.

I pinched a small amount of the leftover powder cake mix into my fingers and flicked it at him.

"Knock it off!" I laughed.

"C'mon, just try it," he held up a batter-covered spoon to my mouth, eventually giving in, I licked the spoon.

"Okay it's good, but we still need that for the cupcakes," I attempted to say with a straight face.

"Fine, one last one?" He waved the spoon in my face. Before I even knew it, he had smeared the batter all over my face.

"Finn, I'm gonna kill you," I threatened. I picked up an extra spoon and flicked it, batter splattering all over him. As he chased me around the island in the kitchen, I playfully screamed while still trying to get batter on him. My phone began to ring and I paused to pick it up- it was Sadie.

"This isn't over, Wolfhard," I said, putting the phone up to my ear.

"Hey Sadie."

"Millie!" Sadie shouted into the phone.

"What is it?"

"Party tonight, we're going!"

"I'm with Finn righ-"

"Well duh, he's coming. And so are Caleb and Gaten," she interrupted.

"Who's party is it?"

"I'll give you more details when I get to your house, we're on our way!"

"Sadie I-" I said, before realizing she had already hung up. I put the phone down on the counter and brushed the hair out of my face.

"What did Sadie want?" Finn asked.

"I guess we're going to some party," I said, placing the cupcake tray into the oven.

"Tonight?"

"Yeah, they're on their way," I took a deep breath in, "we should probably start to clean up," I laughed, realizing the mess we had made. We began putting the cupcake ingredients back in their places, teasing each other as we scrambled to clean up the kitchen before they got there. After about 20 minutes, Caleb, Sadie, and Gaten had all showed up. I opened the door and Sadie looked me up and down.

"You look like shit," she laughed, "let's go get you ready." She pulled on my arm, leading me to my room as all of the boys stayed downstairs. She did my makeup and fixed my hair quickly so the boys weren't waiting for too long. I went into my closet, shifting the hangers side to side, looking for a decent outfit I could wear. I picked out a black, long-sleeved, fitted crop-top along with cute jean shorts. After getting dressed, I walked over to the mirror that hung on the back of my bedroom door.

"Holy shit," Sadie looked over at me, "you look awesome." We both did our final touches and ran downstairs to find the boys hovering over the kitchen counter, each eating a cupcake.
