Chapter 2:
Millie's POV
The next morning, I was at my locker getting all of my books when I heard running down the busy hallway.
"Millie!" A familiar voice squealed. I turned around smiling, knowing immediately it was Sadie. She jumped on me and embraced me tightly, breathing quite heavily from running.
"I'm so glad you're back," she smiled into my shoulder.
"I missed you so much, Sadie," I said, relieved.
She pulled away from the hug and looked me straight in the eye, still smiling.
"You'll never guess what happened while you were gone."
"Go on..." I smiled.
"Caleb," she started, "he finally asked me out! The date is tomorrow!
"That's awesome, Sadie! I know how much you like him," I smiled.
"Like who?" Caleb came up behind Sadie, smiling.
"Oh," Sadie let out a small laugh, "definitely not you."
I glanced behind Caleb where two boys stood, one tall one with light curly hair and the other with dark curly hair and freckles. The first one, Gaten I think his name was, I've met once or twice before. I remembered his goofy sense of humor and his big smile. The other one, for some reason, I wasn't familiar with.
Finn's POV
While we began walking over to the two girls at the lockers, Caleb a few feet in front of us, I nudged Gaten.
"Who is that? The girl that Sadie is standing next to?" I asked. I've met Sadie before, but I've never seen the other girl.
"I don't know, man, Sadie's friend," he responded carelessly.
"Have you met her?"
"Uh, yeah, once I think."
"Well, what's her name?" I asked.
"Dude, if you're so curious about her just fucking ask her," he replied.
I shoved his arm, annoyed with his response, and he laughed.
Millie's POV
As Sadie and Caleb continued to talk about something, the dark haired boy continued to stare at me. I noticed him slightly bite his lip, sending chills down my spine.
"Alright, yeah I'll see you at lunch," Caleb smiled.
"See you later," Sadie said.
As the group of boys began to walk away, I shut my locker and started walking in the opposite direction with Sadie by my side.
"Ugh he's so fucking cute," she whispered.
"I'm sure he's saying the same thing about you as we speak," I laughed.
After a few periods, it was time for lunch. Sadie and I grabbed a seat at our usual table, but this time we had some company. Caleb, Gaten, and the one boy I still didn't know all took a seat. The boy sat across from me and continued to stare at me, just as before.
"Oh, Millie, this is Finn," she glanced over at us, "Finn, this is Millie."
"Cool," he grinned, slightly biting his lip again, "Nice to meet you."
I shot him a quick smile and started quickly unpacking my lunch, chills running through my body. He wasn't like Caleb, or even Gaten. He was different. Every time I looked into his big brown eyes, I got a weird feeling, but I still don't know if it was a good or bad one. Although he was sort of creeping me out, he was awfully cute.
-------------------------
Tonight wasn't like the other nights. I wasn't just staring blankly up at my ceiling with no thoughts in my mind, because I did have a thought- Finn. It wasn't a bad feeling, but it also wasn't really a good one. Although I had just met him, I couldn't stop thinking about those eyes of his. Every time I thought about him biting his lip, chills ran throughout my body, and I didn't know why. It's like he has all of a sudden entered my life, and I don't think he'll be leaving any time soon.
Finn's POV
Her name continued to repeat in my mind. Who even was this girl, and why couldn't I get her out of my damn head? But I will admit, she was gorgeous. Something about her was striking, and I couldn't stop thinking about the way she looked at me. I had a feeling that this wouldn't be the last time I stayed up thinking about her, because no matter what I did, I couldn't get her out of my head.
