Chapter 17
After Hayden kicked me out of the boy's house, so rudely I might add, I walked to the diner to work some hours. I walked in at the same time as my phone rang. I looked at it and saw Walker was calling me. I looked up and saw him on the phone at the same time he noticed me. I snorted.
"Nice timing." I said. He sighed and walked over to me.
"Can you work?" he asked and I nodded.
"That is what I came to do." I said. He smiled and I went to get ready. I pulled on my apron and grabbed my stuff before walking out. I looked around and didn't see any other waitress here, but a lot of customers, about 15 of them, all waiting. I stopped at Walker before going to take orders. "Hey, where are the other waitresses?"
"Candy is sick, Laurie is on her maternity leave and Sarah broke her leg yesterday after she fell down the stairs. And Lucy, who was just here, had to run to the school because her son, Tommy, is sick and puking in the bathroom." Walker explained quickly as he flipped the burgers. I saw only Robert back there helping Walker. "Oh, and George is in the hospital. Heart attack."
"Wow, that sucks." I said, feeling a little bad for Sarah and Lucy, and a little less bad, but still there, for George. I turned and quickly took orders and served coffee, water and soda to our customers. I heard something fall behind me and when I turned around, I saw a little doll. I picked it up and a little girl can over to me.
"Um... That's mine." she said, quietly. I smiled and crouched down to her level, holding it out to her.
"Here you go, sweetie." I said. She smiled at me and took it out of my hand.
"Thank you." she said sweetly and ran off back to her parents. I heard the bell ring and looked at the door. I saw five females walk in and sit down at a booth. I walked over to them and pulled out my pad.
"What can I get your ladies today?" I asked, not looking at them, ready to write their order.
"To stay away from the boys." one said. I looked up, confused and I sighed, quickly realizing their purpose. I looked for their markings. I pointed to each of them as I saw their tattoos.
The first one I pointed to was a blonde-bombshell with bright blue eyes. She wore a pink crop top and blue jeans, paired with wedges. I saw a sword with a white and black angel wings. "Hayden worshipper, or the 'Black Demons'." I said.
The second one was a busty brunette with brown eyes and a piercing in her eyebrow. She wore a black tank top and a jean skirt, paired with black stilettos. I saw a Cheshire smile on her wrist. "Asher worshipper, or the 'Smiling Demons'."
The third one was a fiery redhead with green eye and a nose piercing. She wore a black skin-tight shirt, black leggings, and a pair of black spiked combat boots. I saw the letters 'Na' peeking out from under her shirt and knew it said 'Nash'. "Nash worshipper, or the 'Dark Angels'."
The fourth one was skinny blonde with brown eyes and a glare plastered on her face. She wore a white shirt with a pink mini skirt, paired with pink knee-high, heeled boots. She had a snake wrapping up her left arm. "Archer worshipper, or the 'Mischievous Angels'."
The last one was a curvy platinum girl with blue eyes and a ring in the middle of her bottom lip. She wore a white tank top, black jeans and black knee-high boots. She had the words 'Inhale the future, Exhale the past' with some birds on flying up her shoulder. "Lance worshipper, or the 'Silent Angels'."
I looked at them as a group and smiled. "Did I get that all correct?" I asked and they all sneer at me.
"You don't know anything." the fiery redhead sneer at me.
