"Mrs Warren, thank you for coming." I could hear the roar of a studio audience.
"Thank you for having me, Amy." The Amy Rivers Show was one of the most popular TV talk shows in America. Everyone and their mother were dying for tickets.
"So, we're here today to talk about your book." She held up a book. It had the words 'Imprisoned by R.Warren' on it. Did I write a book?
"Yeah, I'm really proud of it." I lied, hopefully she'd tell me what I'd written about.
"Well, the book itself is absolutely brilliant! When I first read it I couldn't believe it was real. I can't believe the detail of it all whilst still leaving moments vague."

I sat bolt upright in bed. I checked the time, 2:45. I grabbed the laptop and placed it onto my lap. I knew exactly what I needed to do. I tried to be as quiet as possible not to awake my sleeping husband next to me. I felt my door creak open. My eyes went towards the door. I looked down to meet the eyes of my young, ginger daughter.
"Mommy? I can't sleep. I had a nightmare, can I stay with you?" She whispered. I chuckled and said "hop on up, you can watch something on my iPad before you go to sleep, just don't wake daddy up." She crawled onto the bed and submerged herself into the covers. I put some random kids show on for her which she seemed to enjoy and went back to my writing.

I woke up to the sound of typing and giggling. My eyes fluttered open. Randy was on his laptop and Lucy was watching him. I pretended to be asleep a little bit longer just to see how it would play out.
"Whose that?" She asked. They must've been looking through pictures. I noticed his breathing hitch.
"That's my mommy. She looks like you doesn't she?" He chuckled. I could tell it was a fake laugh.
"Where did she go?" He placed an arm around her and kissed her forehead.
"Remember Lucy? I told you. She's up in heaven."
"Oh. Anyway, shall we go make mommy breakfast in bed? She's been sad and unhappy recently and I think this would be a nice pick me up." Her face lit up.
"Can we make pancakes?" He chuckled as he picked her up and took her to the kitchen.

I wrapped a silk dressing gown around myself and walked into the kitchen. Lucy had an obsession of wearing onesies recently so I bought her a few that she could wear. I walked downstairs to the kitchen. It was the cutest scene I'd seen in a while. Randy was in a tight fitting shirt and sweats and Lucy was wearing a dinosaur onesie. She was sat on the kitchen counter peeling bananas and cutting fruit up with a butter knife and Randy was cooking pancakes. A perfect family.
"Morning you two." I wrapped my arms around Randy and kissed him on the cheek.
"Mommy where's my kiss?" I picked her up and spun her around. I kissed her cheek. She let out a little squeal of laughter. I was going to keep my book writing a secret for now, I was going to tell Randy soon but at that moment in time I wanted to live in the present.
