"See you soon. I love you." I felt him kiss my forehead and my eyes fluttered open. "I'm sorry. Did I wake you up?" I nodded and rubbed my eyes. I put out my arms and did a kind of grabby motion. He chuckled. He wrapped his arms around me. "You're so cute." I breathed him in.
"You smell good." I yawned. He kissed my forehead and tried not to wake the sleeping children next to us.
"I love you so much. Stay safe." I whispered.
"Are you sure you'll be okay with the kids on your own?" He asked.
"Yeah, I'll have Bailey anyway."
"Ok. I'll facetime you tonight so make sure you kids stay awake." We exchanged a kiss and he walked out of the room. I snuggled up to my children and fell back asleep."Bye momma. Have a good day at work!" Lucy giggled to me as I walked to the car.
It wasn't as busy as normal today, luckily. I spent most of the day talking to Tami and discussing her ceremony. I missed Randy. He hadn't been away since Daniel and Lucy were born. It was nice having someone else to help me take care of the kids whilst he was away. Otherwise, I wouldn't know what to do."I'm home!" I shouted into the house. The padding of a little girls feet echoed the hallway. She hugged my knees. I picked her up and carried her into the kitchen. We ordered pizza.
'Randy ❤❤ would like to facetime' I slid across the screen to answer. He was sat on his bed still in his work clothes.
"Hey!"
"Daddy! How did you get in mommys phone?" Lucy asked. I giggled at her question.
"I'm in my hotel room and you're at home but there's something you can use to talk to people from all over the world." She sat and thought about it for a moment and then nodded in agreement.
"I've only just got in. I was thinking about you guys all day. Did you have a good day?"
"We painted a picture, we watched TV and we ate carrot sticks and jumped like bunnies." Lucy was loving the fact that she could talk to her dad. She must've missed him. Then, the kids went to bed.
I told him I would call him back once I'd put the kids to bed."So."
"So."
" I miss your cooking. I've only been away for a day but I wish I took some of your food here. I have a microwave and everything." He was sat in his pyjamas typing away doing work.
"Aww. I'll cook you something nice when you come home."
"Well, you could do something else too." He winked. I let out a hearty laugh. Then a yawn. Was I really that tired? It was only nine o'clock.
"Wait until you get home!" He chuckled at the scolding. He sipped some tea and moved the conversation onto something more serious.
"So, after work, we all went out for dinner. It was at some themed gypy place." That was a weird place to have a work dinner. His boss could be quirky sometimes, I guess.
"Your boss must have loved that." I said sarcastically. He went on some kind of team building thing with the rest of the group he worked with. They did it every year but last year I was too unstable so he couldn't go. I blamed myself for him not having much of a life.
"Oddly enough, he did. There was a medium there and she was really good." I sat upright. He usually didn't believe in mediums because he'd had bad experiences with them when he was young. I was glad that he seemed to like this one.
"What happened?" I asked, engulfed in the story.
"I spoke to my mom." I noticed tears threatening to fall from his beautiful green eyes. "It was wonderful."
"What did she say?"
"She apologised for dad. She always used to do that whenever he would loose his temper, it wasn't as much when she was still here. Then, she said how beautiful the kids were and how she's proud of me for everything that happened."
"Like what?" I was so happy for him that he got chance to speak to his beloved mother.
"Getting a decent job and working my way up, starting a family with a beautiful woman and getting through everything." My heart began to swell. Tears began to fall down his cheeks. "She said she was taking care of Gabriel and Aries." Tears fell down my cheeks now.
"I'm so happy to hear that." I wanted nothing more than to be held by the man on the opposite side of the screen.
"I love you."
"I love you too."
I ended up falling asleep on facetime out of exaustion. I could feel his warm presence and the presence of my angel children keeping me safe.
