The wind whispers through the stone stair case leading up to the Astronomy Tower. You hold you books in hand as you make your way to the top. The staircase is kind of eerie near sunset, there are no other students or professors around. No needless chatter, just quiet. You finally reach the top and start to sit down when you freeze.

A tall boy with fair hair stands on the edge of the Tower's Overlook. His white button-down is untucked. His hair whips around messily from the wind. He appears to stand very still, but you notice a slight tremor in his hands and back. You walk towards him ever so silently, not wanting to frighten him. After getting a bit closer you stop and softly say,

"What are you doing?"

He turns around quickly with a shocked expression painted on his face. This expression almost instantaneously turns into an angry one.

"It's not your business what I'm doing up here,"
He says harshly.

You notice tear stains on His neck and collar. He turns to face the edge again.

"Aren't you Draco Malfoy? Why would a Slytherin be all alone up here? You could be studying, but I don't see any books. Maybe you were watching the sunset? But Slytherins don't usually enjoy things like sunsets. So why don't you just tell me? What are you doing here?" You say in a gentle tone.

Draco whips around again, clearly agitated,
"I told you, it is none of your concern.
You should just go."

You cross your arms,
"I came up here to study. I'm not leaving."

He glares at you and replies,
"Find somewhere else to study."

You counter,
"Find another ledge to stand on sorrowfully."

Silence. The wind's whispers are once again audible as neither of you say a word.
Then the Draco breathes in deeply and sighs. He turns his face to you and you see tears creep down his face.
Then in a shaky voice He whispers,

"I didn't want anyone to have to see this."

A confused look plays out on your face as he faces the edge once again.
Realization sparks as you see him take a step closer to the edge.

"No-no Stop!"
You exclaim and rush towards him,
but it's too late.
You watch in anguish as Draco Malfoy's lean figure disappears over the edge, and into the night.
