Chapter 3

Chirp Chirp...

I awoke to a bright light coming from the window next to my bed frame. I heard the birds singing and that's how I knew it was the start of a new day. I rose from bed and entered the wash room to get myself ready for my first official day at Hogwarts. As soon as I finished, I exited and put on my uniform and robes. I have to be honest with you, the uniforms here are much cuter than the ones back at Ilvermorny. Back home everyone had the same navy blue robes wrapped in a golden knot. After I was changed, I bid my new dorm mates farewell and left the common room as quickly as I entered it.

As I walked into the dungeons, I was expecting to see Sarah outside waiting for me since she usually gets ready before me, but she wasn't nowhere in sight. With that I assumed she already left to explore so I too left, to go to the Great Hall and eat breakfasts. Nothing really happened, for I just sat there eating my meal quietly. Neither Tiv nor Sarah were here either so as soon as I finished I decided to walk to my first class, Charms. There I know I would at least see Sarah since we shared the class together. This was one of her favorite subjects and she excelled in it far beyond expectations. Just the thought of it brought a small smile to my face.

As I arrived, I noticed that there was only one other person besides me, in the classroom. It was him. The starry-freckled boy from the ceremony last night, sitting in the far corner next to the window reading his book. I wonder what book captivated him so much as to not realize he wasn't alone in the room anymore. Just as I was about to approach him, both Tiv and Sarah entered, both running towards me as soon as I was spotted. Sarah's loud voice echoed through the room catching the boy off guard, causing him to finally advert his attention away from his book, even if it was just for a split second.

"Hey Anna! You will not believe what Tiv just showed me in the hallway." Sarah continued to blabber on and on about how extraordinary she found Hogwarts to be and gushing about everything and everyone around her. She also mentioned that she told Tiv everything about Ilvermorny, to which she responded with how much she wants to visit our school back in America. Now it's not that I wasn't interested or didn't care for what Sarah had to say, because I did care, it's just that my attention kept focusing on that one, intriguing Hufflepuff boy.

Now that I could actually see him in the light I noticed he had slightly long curls which laid upon his eyebrows. Then I noticed the most beautiful eyes. His eyes glowed a beautiful green causing them to look like emeralds as he continued to read his book. I would have kept staring until he looked up and locked eyes with mine. He flashed a small, awkward smile my way causing the tiniest of butterflies to erupt in my stomach. It wasn't until my cheeks turned a slight shade of pink, did he return to reading.

As soon as I turned back to the twos conversation, they both quieted and took notice of my flamed cheeks. I saw Sarah cast a smirk to the two of us causing my cheeks to grow pinker by the second. As soon as I saw Sarah open her mouth, I knew I was going to dread it. "Who has gotten you all soft and blushy, little Anna?" I heard her ask teasingly. I turned to Tiv to plead for help until she softly squeezed my cheeks and continued the teasing. "Does our little Anna have a crush, perhaps?" she proclaimed only loud enough for the three of us to hear. But as if he heard, the Hufflepuff boy looked my way. Thankfully, neither Sarah nor Tiv caught on.

"Quiet down now, today's lesson will be the summoning charm. Does anyone here happen to know the incantation?" said the professor while walking in.

I noticed Sarah immediately rose her hand.

"Uh yes, Miss..." the professor started. "Moore" Sarah replied with no emotion what so ever. "Ah yes, on of the new American transfers. Very well, what is the incantation Miss Moore?"
