The students at Canterlot High were just about as accepting as the ponies from Equestria. They were a bit skeptical at first, but once they were associated with Sunset, they were nearly fawned over. The four brothers, however, were quite skeptical. Even Donnie agreed that this alternate universe thing was starting to get a bit out of hand.
They walked with Sunset to the principal's office. The brothers took a seat outside while the flame haired girl went inside to explain the situation.
Donnie pulled out his journal to Twilight and a pen. He held a wrapped hand above the pages before starting to write.
Dear Twilight,
Due to a recent development, my brothers and I have ended up in the world you described to me the first time we met- the place with Canterlot High. The people here are... interesting. It does make me rethink my universe theory. While I initially thought the portal were travelling between multiverses, I'm starting to think it was more like across dimensions.
Each of our worlds seems to have an entire multiverse behind it, with what are commonly thought of as 'parallel dimensions'. However, this is not the case. I think that, while there are dimensions, each dimension holds a different story, if you will. What we think of as parallel is actually a multiverse. And within that multiverse, each universe has an infinite series of timelines created from different decisions we make.
I'd be interested to hear your thoughts
-Donnie
"That's really interesting." Donnie jumped and shut the book, looking up at the girl who had spoken. It appeared to be this universe's Twilight. However, it felt a bit... wrong. This wasn't his Twilight.
"Oh. Thanks. But it's just a theory. I don't have any proof to back it up." He ran a finger along the binding.
She sat beside him, twirling a hair lock around her finger. "Maybe you and I could... I dunno, discuss it over dinner or something?"
Donnie's stomach sank. He knew what this was. He laughed awkwardly, rubbing the back of his neck. "Heh, thanks for the offer but... Oh, I don't know how to put this..."
Her gaze fell a bit. "You're seeing someone else?"
"... s-sort of...?"
Raph looked over at him from where he was seated and stood up, striding over and setting an arm on Donnie's shoulder. "Hey- uh, Twilight was it?"
She nodded shyly.
"Well see, Nerd-o-tello here is really all talk. He's got nothing in that little head of his." Raph tapped his knuckles against Donnie's skull. "You really won't find anything interesting."
Twilight frowned. Donnie shoved Raph aside and rubbed his head. "What he means is, you don't really want to go out with me. I'm not only seeing someone else but, even when it comes to science, I'm really not that interesting to talk to." He set his hands on the book in his lap.
"Oh." She looked crestfallen. "I understand." She stood up and hurried away, keeping her head down.
"You should've just left it up to me," Raph muttered, jerking a thumb to himself.
"You didn't do a very good job." Donnie wrapped his arms around the book as he stood up, Principal Celestia coming out of the room to greet them personally.
"Sunset seems very excited to have you four around," she started. Donnie looked up at her, surprised that not even he was tall enough to stand eye to eye with her. "I'm leaving her in charge of getting you acquainted with what we have to offer here. Don't worry if you have to leave soon- we get it a lot." She smiled a bit awkwardly.
Donnie suddenly frowned, realizing they didn't *exactly* have a way home.
AN: Sorry I haven't updated you guys, I've been working on this month's Camp NaNoWriMo, and that's taking up a lot of my time. Plus, state testing just started and I've been real busy trying to keep my math grade up. I'll try harder, I promise!
