Chapter 10

Donnie worked quietly on the retromutagen. Raph was seated in the corner with Mikey asleep in his lap. He gently cleaned the burn mark on his shoulder, causing Mikey to shift a bit in his sleep, only to be once again comforted by Raph. Leo was in the other room with Rainbow, Vinyl and Snowflake. Sunset was pacing and Twilight was taking notes on the mutants.

Donnie jumped when his book went off and he picked it up, flipping through the pages carefully.

Under siege. Kraang have all of Ponyville trapped. Help

His hands trembled as he stared at the message and Raph looked up. "Don?"

He slammed the book shut, causing everyone to jump.

"We failed...."

Sunset sank to the floor and buried her face in her hands. "It's my fault..."

Donnie leaned against the counter, a heavy silence over the world.

What's going on?

They've surrounded the entire town. They're not harming anyone... as long as they stay in their homes.

The high school is in the same situation...

Do you know anything about how they've set up their army?

No...?

Well, see, they had to come up with a plan on how to place everything. You can't really move the central location for everything, so that will probably be in New York.

Right...

And since the statue's portal doesn't go back, the Kraang probably have the portal back to New York

How do you know this?

Mikey didn't tell you?

No...?

Then he doesn't want you to know.

Wait what?

It doesn't matter. They would have brought the portal to New York here, so that you guys wouldn't' be able to get to it as easily.

Right. So does that mean you might be able to get to New York?

Maybe. I can try

Be careful...

Twilight shut the book and stretched her wings out. Starlight looked over from where she was standing by the window. "Twilight? Do you know what's going on?"

"Yes, Starlight, but I think Don and I figured out a way to fix it." She scanned her books for a moment before setting them aside on a stack. "Can you reshelve these while I'm gone?"

"Wait, where are you going?"

"New York City." Twilight disappeared as she teleported across Ponyville to find the rest of her friends.

They stood in front of the metal pod, staring at the doorway.

"You girls ready?" Twilight asked, looking at the five ponies behind her. They nodded and AJ walked forward to kick the door down. An alien screeched at them in annoyance before they attacked.

Twilight kept her eyes peeled for the portal as she flew up into the air and shot a freezing beam at a droid. She spotted it in the corner and dove for it, tumbling out the other side. She stood up and looked around the Kraang base before following things that only an egg head would understand to get to the core. Pulling the main power cord that led to the portal she'd come through, everything went black for a moment before an alarm sounded. She shot back through the portal before being captured and everyone escaped back into Ponyville, watching as the army crumbled.
