Chapter 6

Leo wiped his face on a towel provided by one of the students in the stands and rubbed a nice bruise on his shoulder Raph had given him. Leo had won- obviously- and students were starting to file out of the stands to go to lunch.

Raph walked over to his brother, drinking out of a water bottle. "Have you seen Mikey? I went looking around the gym for him but I couldn't find him."

"He's probably joining the rest in the lunchroom." Leo set the towel aside. "We should go as well."

Raph nodded, but frowned a bit. Mikey was known to get himself in trouble when left alone too long. He followed his brother through the hallways as they trailed behind the swell of students.

Donnie ran up beside them. "Have either of you seen Mikey? He had something to tell me."

Leo frowned a bit, suddenly slightly concerned. "It must have been important... Hopefully he's in the lunchroom and we can talk to him the-"

He was cut off by a scream from up ahead. The brothers were pushed against the wall as the student body ran down the hallway, from something.

Donnie looked down the hallway and his stomach dropped when he saw a swarm of Kraang gathering at the end of the hallway.
"Oh my god..." Leo murmured.

Donnie grabbed his staff and ran down the hallway towards the aliens. Raph growled and followed suit with his sais in hand. Leo started getting students out of the surrounding classrooms hurriedly.

Raph and Donnie were tossed carelessly down the hallway by a pair of biodroids. They grunted and Raph rubbed his head. Three clones wheeled forward a mutagen and Donnie's eyes widened in panic as they shot it down the hallway.

It hit two students- Lyra and BonBon- and in a screech of pain they lay on the floor, having become one being. There was a laugh from the army. Leo dragged the pained mutation into a classroom and leapt at the group, stabbing the clones through the chest. Donnie and Raph followed, attacking the biodroids and ramming their heads into the walls.

Fluttershy looked down the hallway, having been sent by Sunset to find the brothers. She gasped at the commotion and turned to go tell Principal Celestia what was going on when a gob of mutagen hit her ankle. She let out a scream as her back arched and she fell forward to the floor.

"Fluttershy!" Leo yelled before throwing a ninja star at the canon. It lodged itself in the inner workings, causing the movement to stop until the machine exploded, causing Donnie to hit the ceiling and fall to the floor. Raph was blasted against a wall and Leo used the velocity to shoot down the hallway. He ran over to Fluttershy and looked at her with a sick feeling in his stomach.

Half of her body had been replaced by animal parts- a cat tail, a set of bird wings coming out of her back, a rat arm...

He picked her unconscious body up off the floor and set her in the room with the other mutation. He looked at his unconscious brothers, panic settling into his nervous system. He ran down the hallways to look for the other students.

They were hiding in classrooms, away from the aliens patrolling the hallway. The entire school was under siege.

Leo backed into a store closet and sat down on the ground, burying his face in his hands as a sense of failure flooded his mind.
