Fall break has ended. I had returned to the hellhole, A.K.A. school.
I've seen Daniel in the hallways. I've seen him in the only class we have together; P.E. And we don't exchange words at all. We simply ignore each other.
I'm starting to heal from the heartbreak Daniel put me through. Barely.
I still love Daniel. He's my first boyfriend and the first guy I've fallen in love with. He's the one I lost my virginity to.
I thought he loved me. I thought we'd stay together forever no matter what life throws at us. I thought nothing could separate us.
But I turned out to be wrong, totally wrong.
That son of a bitch left me. That son of a bitch broke my heart. All because he knocked me up.
Fuck him!
I wish I never had sex with him. I wish he never knocked me up. I even wished I never dated him.
But I can't go back in time and change it...though, it'd be nice if I could.
What's done is done.
After the long day at school drags by ever so slowly like a snail, I go straight home.
Because it's Monday, Mom and Dad are off work.
I estimate I'm about fourteen weeks pregnant. I'm starting to show. I've been wearing baggy shirts that hides my emerging baby bump and I moved up a size in jeans because I gained some weight.
I know that Mom and Dad would start getting suspicious...
"Mom? Dad?" I nervously approach them when I enter the living room.
They're watching a show on the TV.
"Yes, sweetie?" Dad replies, not taking his eyes off the TV.
"Um, I have something really important to tell you," I say slowly, my heart beating faster than ever before.
Mom and Dad turn towards me, ignoring the TV show.
"What is it, sweetie?" Mom asks, sensing that something is wrong.
I take a deep breath. Once again I just drop the bombshell. "I'm pregnant."
Mom's bright blue eyes bulge; Dad's chocolate brown eyes bulge. Their skin turns extremely pale.
"Allison Christine Barry!" Mom and Dad yells at me the same time.
I flinch. "I'm so, so sorry."
"Sorry doesn't cut it," Mom snaps. "I can't believe you! I didn't even know you were having sex to begin with!"
"I knew that Daniel boy was a bad influence on you," Dad grumbles. "I'm gonna kill that boy."
"Oh, please do kill him," I say, half smiling, but it disappears quickly. "He broke up with me when I told him that I'm pregnant two weeks ago. He doesn't want anything to do with a pregnant girl."
Mom and Dad glares at me.
"When the heck did you find out, and why did you keep it from us so freaking long?" Mom demands.
"I discovered that I'm pregnant six weeks ago on the first day of school. I'm about fourteen weeks pregnant but I'm not sure since I haven't gone to a doctor. I kept it from you and Dad so long because I've been scared halfway to death that you guys would get angry at me and kick me out of the house." I reply truthfully.
Dad shakes his head in utter disbelief. "Well, Allison, you're darn right we'd be angry. And you're darn right that we'd kick you out of the house. Pack your things and leave!"
"Now now, Scott," Mom warns Dad.
"No, Christine, just no!" Dad argues.
"Please don't make me leave the house," I beg. "Please, Mom and Dad, please! I didn't mean for this to happen! I made a mistake, a huge mistake!"
Dad shakes his head and says, "No. I made up my mind. You're leaving, and that's that."
"Yes, you're a sinner!" Mom sides with Dad. "We don't want anything to do with a pregnant and unmarried teenager! I agree with your father, so...Get. Out. Of. Our. House!"
I sigh, knowing that I can't win this argument.
I go upstairs to my bedroom and pack up my stuff as fast as possible. Obviously I can't pack all of my stuff on such short notice.
I leave the house without uttering a single goodbye.
I get in the car, buckle up, and drive off.
But...Where should I go?
