In my last reaction I started off by saying that this was "one of my all time favorite animes) however, I don't feel the same anymore.
I do appreciate the fact that they tackle some real world problems, especially ones that aren't usually gone into in other animes. (for example, Aiko's weight loss and scars)
However, I'm not a huge fan of Yamato. I find him irritating now actually. I don't think it was always like that, but as I have gotten older I have liked him less and less.
I didn't like the fact that he toyed around with women as he did, not to mention the fact that he was completely ignorant to Mei's feelings.
I actually prefer her with Kai, who understood her much better. Something about Yamato's attitude the entire series pisses me off a bit.
Attractive, sure. Not exactly my cup of tea anymore though
