I definitely preferred this over Ougai.
I guess because you actually felt it much more? The entire time I just kept rooting for him because it was obvious how he felt about her.
The sad looks as he watched her and Ougai, the way he looked at her in general, etc.
I was disappointed he didn't confess in the end. Of course, she wouldn't have said yes. Atleast at that point though he would have gotten some closure and I wouldn't have felt so bad for him.
With Ougai, you really couldn't see any evidence that he liked her. It just sorta... happened.
Not in a good way either.
