Harry awoke with a jolt as though he had just been shocked. His breathing was slightly rapid, his forehead was dotted with a cold sweat, and his body was racked with the occasional shiver. The nightmare hadn't been that terrible, in fact, it had been quite tolerable. But that didn't change the fact that it was still upsetting.

With a deep shuddering breath, he ran a still slightly shaky hand across his face and raked it through his dark disheveled hair as he tried to shove all the lingering images and emotions out of his head and heart. He had enough to deal with already, with the resorting and the fact that Voldemort had returned was something that was always hanging over him now like a big dark rain cloud.

Harry shoved off the covers that had suddenly become stifling and constricting and peaked out of his curtains, he wasn't sure how long he had been asleep. It felt like he had just closed his eyes seconds ago yet spent an eternity in an imaginary hell of his mind's making. The dormitory was flooded with the soft warm light of the rising sun. He could see the blurry sky through an equally blurry window.

Feeling slightly better Harry grabbed his glasses and put them on before looking around the dorm. Both Seamus and Dean were still sleeping in their beds quite peacefully. Neville was tossing around in his bed his hands struggling with the blankets he had become tangled with and Ron, Ron was staring right back at him groggily.

"mornin," Ron mumbled blinking slowly as he stood up and headed towards the bathroom.

Harry simply sighed in return before getting ready for the day as well, glad that he'd have all Saturday to deal with wherever he got sorted and whatever identity crisis it brought with it.

Ready for the day Harry made his way down to the common room which was unnaturally full and loud. Most of the noise seemed to be coming from the twins and the small crowd around their table as they seemed to be taking full advantage of their fellow Gryffindor's foggy minds, convincing them to bet against them.

"They've been at it all morning." Said Hermione from behind a large book.

"What else were you expecting?" Harry asked sitting beside her with a yawn.

"Did you get any sleep?" She asked noticing how exhausted he looked, although he always seemed to look tired.

"Yeah...but I feel even tireder than I felt before I fell asleep." Harry said shaking his head slightly in hopes that it might wake him up a bit more.

"Tireder isn't a word you know... did you have nightmares?" said Hermione casually as she buried her nose in her large book again.

"Nothing that's not normal," Harry answered with a shrug.

"Nightmares every night is not normal." Said Hermione, looking up from her book to give him a stern look.

Harry just brushed her off with another shrug as he turned to watch Ron stumble down the stairs in an almost zombie-like state.

"Looks like Ron didn't get much sleep either." Said Harry, giving Hermione a slight nudge.

"Good morning Ron." Hermione chirped at the redhead.

"Mornin." He murmured back before falling into the spot next to Harry.

"Rough night?" said Harry with a smile, seeing Ron look as miserable as he felt made him feel just that little bit better. Misery loves company they say.

"Yeah...I just kept thinkin ya know?" said Ron before he yawned loudly.

"About?" questioned Harry.

"Well, the resortin and all, like what if you actually got resorted into Slytherin." Said Ron looking more awake.

"Ronald." Hermione hissed noticing how Harry tensed.

"What? I'm just worried." Ron said raising his hands in surrender when Hermione glared at him.

"We have nothing to worry about, even if Harry got sorted into Slytherin." Said Hermione, although she didn't sound too sure of herself.

"But we do, he'd be stuck with all those Slytherins, with Malfoy!" Ron groaned.

"I didn't even think about that." Said Harry a frown replacing the almost smile that once graced his features.

"Well worrying about it isn't going to change anything, except make things worse for yourselves." Hermione snapped.

"You're just upset cause you're going to get sorted into Ravenclaw." Said Ron although it sounded like he had spent a long while thinking about that late last night as well.

"Actually, I'm not. I'd like to think I've grown into these Gryffindor robes and so should you Harry. We're not the same people we were back then. We're more mature and older now." Said Hermione clearly annoyed.

"That's not exactly reassuring..." Harry muttered his left leg bouncing restlessly. All he received in response from the frizzy-haired witch was a scoff.

"Only fifteen more minutes till the resorting..." Ron muttered to himself.

"Great." Harry sighed.
