If stares could kills, both Mark and Jackson and would have been murdered brutally from the intensity of their eyes that were fixed on each other.

"Mark?" you called out from the guest room.

Without even flinching or breaking his strong eye game with Mark, Jackson beat him to respond in a loud and firm voice, "What is it baby?" placing a deliberate emphasis on his term of endearment, more for Mark than you.

In the hallway, you had a towel over your head from the bath as you walked out, wanting to ask Mark for a hairdryer.

Of course, Mark wasn't going to put up a silly fight with Jackson despite his sudden show of aggression.

You emerged, seeing them standing face to face with each other.

"Are you guys...? I mean -- if I'm interrupting something I can come back again."

Mark sighed and rolled his eyes, taking a quick glance at you before turning back to Jackson.

"I'm turning in early, you guys should too." Stuffing his hands into his pockets, he walked the other way, completely ignoring the fact that you needed some help.

He needed some time to put the pieces in his head before coming up with anything sensible.

"Is something up with you both? Is it me?"

Jackson absent-mindedly shook his head, before realising it might be one of the last times he'd get to spend with you before he got taken away for interrogation by his gangster of a father.

He had too much to figure out and he didn't know how much of everything you should know, or perhaps, already did.

"Gabrielle, we need to talk."

JB sat in his office, scrolling the many texts his assistant, Yugyeom, had been sending him about Jackson.  He was now fully aware of their alleged plans to have him as the puppet successor of the conglomerate.

Sinking into his leather swivel chair, he jabbed the button of the intercom, speaking into it for Yugyeom to enter.

The door swung open to reveal a sharply dressed Yugyeom, who reached the desk of his boss in a few large strides.

"Have you got any news if they've found the boy?" he asked his assistant, referring to Jackson, whom he had entrusted you, his precious sister to.
