Time stopped completely in your world as your eyelids involuntarily shut as a reflex action. Your head went spinning into a whirlpool and you felt dizzy with a tingling sensation running through your spine. It was such an inexplicable feeling like never before. You felt your muscles suddenly relaxing completely, a wave of woozy bliss overcoming your consciousness.

Wait, what's going on?

You melt into a pair of sturdy arms, that were already tightly holding onto you as you faintly taste the warm and foreign scent of Jackson on your lips.

It was the first kiss you had with Jackson and it was strangely different from anything you remembered.

He broke the kiss gently, foreheads touching as he looked right into your sleep-laden eyes.

With a smile, he sent your mind a million miles away into the galaxy, forgetting you were students about to be sent for detention if you both kept up with this chilling out after the school bell.

"We'll continue later." Jackson winked, grabbed your hand and started leading you back to the main hall.

You were still in a bit of a daze, the taste of his cherry-like lips faintly lingering. Thankfully he kept his hand firmly on you all the way till the classroom doors.

"Oh look, what a cute campus couple."

A male voice tagged with sarcasm brought you instantly back to reality.

It was Park Jinyoung, the same guy you recognised at the school gates that cornered you for no reason. Instinctively, Jackson took half a step up to shield you with his back, hiding his clasped hand behind.

"Oh what a good morning isn't it? Don't let US stop you, please." Jackson smirked, not backing down either.

You hid behind him as you looked away not wanting to make eye contact in case he recognised you from before. You saw his shoes walking nearer and stopping in front of Jackson's.

"Aren't you introducing your girl to me, Jackson Wang?" he spoke in a taunting tone that started to get on your nerves, and at the same time intimidate you a little.

You waited to hear how Jackson would respond. Sensing that you were tugging tighter on his shirt and squeezing his hand harder, he knew this was all too much for you.

"Well, sure!" he said, much to your horror. Your heart beat faster as you recalled the fear that overcame your helplessness against this same bully. "But not today, Jinyoung. If you would excuse us please."

You opened your tightly shut eyes as you felt Jackson lightly pull you to himself, with an arm around your waist as he whisked you into the classroom. Once you were a few steps in from the back door, he quickly turned to check on you.

"It's okay Gabby, he's just a trying to put on an act to scare us. You don't need to be afraid, I'm here." Stroking your hair, he bent down to wait for your eyes to meet his again.

You smiled back weakly at him, "I know."

"What's the matter guys?" The raspy voice of Mark reminded you that you weren't alone with Jackson.

He walked over in large strides, a worried look on his face as he saw Jackson hovered over you.

"You okay?" he asked, standing beside Jackson and exchanging glances with him.

You nodded and straightened your attire. "Jackson took care of it."

The teacher walked in at that moment, and you quickly took your seat after the boys. As usual, with Jackson by your side, you grew to rely on him more as time passed.

Mark gave Jackson a few wordless exchanges and he strangely seemed to have figured things out. You couldn't help but notice how much Mark kept looking at you.

He doesn't like me, does he?

You shook the thought off your head, remembering that you were now an item with Jackson; his bosom buddy. That thought was just so so so wrong.

Jackson had dozed off during one of the lectures and had his face buried in his notes. You decide to text him to wake up. His phone buzzed a couple of times and slipped out of his pants pocket to the side of the seat. Not wanting it to fall, you discreetly reached over and picked it out.

Unintended, his slew of unread messages lit up the screen.

Hukkk, 45 messages?! Why doesn't he read them?

You saw yours appear at the top, followed by the name 'Park Jinyoung'. Your curious eyes knew no restrain and the message read:

'Yah. One of your men is at the gate. I don't know how many more are around. Sheesh, why do I bother, srsly.'

The rest of the messages were from private numbers that had no stored names and they all sent the same message:

'Master has called for you'

It was almost creepy and you couldn't imagine if you were in his shoes, with family pressure and harassment even though you had moved out of their sight.

Ah, that must be the reason why that Park Jinyoung was waiting at the corridor... to warn Jackson...

You didn't feel quite as fearful of him and like Jackson said, he was just trying to act tough.

It got harder to focus on lessons as you held on to his phone, constantly watching and waiting for the sleepy Jackson to awaken.

Boy, he sure can sleep.

Just slightly before the last bell, his eyelids fluttered open, only to see your brows furrowed as you stared hard at what the professor was pointing to. Gazing at your side profile, it was almost like he painted a mental picture of how life would be if you were his wife, with you beside him when he woke up.

You felt a stare and snapped your head towards him, only to catch him shutting his eyes in a millisecond.

"I saw that." You said.

His lips pressed hard together trying not to smile as he opened his eyes slowly, only to meet with yours. He wanted to reach out at that instant and pull you in for a kiss and thankfully, the bell rang loud and shrill, causing a few other sleepy heads to keep awake as their knees hit the tables in shock.

"Hey Jackson..."

You weren't sure if he'd mind that you saw his messages but you didn't want to tip toe around him either.

"...look, I wasn't deliberately looking but I think you've got some trouble brewing..."

Outstretched on your palm was his phone and it vibrated again as you held it.

Jackson shut his eyes, the smile gone from his face as he sighed.

"I know." He said, "They've been at it for some time now but I thought this game would get better.... Guess not."

He scrolled quickly though the messages and dunked the phone into his bag.

"C'mon sweets, let's grab a bite." Slinging has bag over himself, he picked yours up from behind your chair and casually slid his hand down your arm to hold your hand in his.

"But, I thought you -- "

Right then, Mark who had been behind all along, stood up as well.

"Go on, I've got your back." he gave both of you a reassuring smile as he took his own bag and slung it on his shoulder.

Jackson chest bumped him with some fancy hand gestures as if to say THANKSDUDEIOWEYOUONEBUTNOTRIGHTNOWBYE.

You watched them both, hoping things would really be okay. After all, you hadn't snapped out of the bliss of a blossoming new love life and Jackson was someone you found to be special like none other. There was so much you wanted to know about him, many things you wanted to share with him, places to explore together and just not be apart from him. You couldn't care less about anything in the world that would stop you both from being together, chasing after your little happiness, but yet in the pits of your stomach, something held you back - you knew it wasn't going to be an easy ride.
