Chapter 7: The Falling Feather

We are still walking and the bridge I made is really long. It feels it's been days but it's only been half an hour. I'm normally energetic but today I wasn't. I started staring at Ashton and hoping he didn't notice but then he looks at me and I turn away blushing. I realized that this is so huge I wasn't done building my bridge. We stoped and I set the dog down." I think her name should be Grace. She looks so graceful when she is sleeping." Lydia said. Grace was a beautiful name that was a really great idea. I smile to let her know I agree. I'm still building the bridge and I finally see the other side. I turn around and notice that you couldn't see the side we came from. We walk a little faster, but Lydia walked ahead of us. She really is scared of glaciers. But then out of know where, she automatically turns back into an owl. I was confused she turns into an owl when she spins. She didn't spin. She was flying but looked a little uneasy. She lost her balance. She was almost there but she fell. Sinking all the way down. No! Lydia she can't leave me. I ran to the the spot she started falling. Ashton held me back. Why was he doing this? I need to help her! I pushed my way through his strong arms. He released and I started building stairs where she was falling I was running down and crying. I couldn't lose her now! I love her. She was the best. She's special. Tears went showering down my face and I finally hit the ground and I see something in the snow. I move closer. Ashton is behind me and as soon as he sees me he slows down. I knelt down and see an owl. It's Lydia. I'm crying. Ashton is beside me trying to comfort me, but nothing helped." She raised me like her own" I said with tears." I can't believe she's gone!" I continue. Her eyes slightly open." Ellie promise me you will get to the castle don't worry about me I'm still with you. There is no chance in saving me. Please continue on. You have Ashton." She tells very soared. Ashton started blushing." Ashton take care of Ellie make sure she gets to the castle." She told Ashton. Ashton became more red and nodded. "I can't just leave you here alone in the cold, and what about you meeting my mom. Isn't that what you wanted? To see your best friend again after 16 years?" I asked her. "Yes indeed but not everything is possible with me." There had to be a way to save her. It can't be her time yet! I'm not seeing my mother without her! She started fading. I looked at her in confusion." I'm very sorry Ellie but my time is up." Lydia says I make a secure ice bird cage and write a note. It was for my mother I see a white winter pigeon." Give this to Queen Flora." I started crying as soon as I saw the bird take he cage and saw Lydia disappear. She was everything to me. I love you Lydia. I started sobbing and Ashton was holding me." I-I just c-can't believe s-she's gone" I studded. I continued. She wants me to continue on and find my mom. I shall do what she says it's what she wanted. I look up, my face was really close to Ashton's. I started blushing. He wiped off my tears. I sniffled and we laughed. I started blushing a lot. He kissed me. His lips cheered me up. His gracious touch comforts me. He holds me. Like if I was his world, I know he is definitely mine." I never wan to lose you." I said smiling. I kissed him. He blushes and we hug. We go up the stairs I created. We keep going and Ashton stops me. He noticed something on my hair. It was a feather. Lydia's feather. It reminded me of her. A tear went down my face and Ashton holds me against his chest. I started crying and we keep kissed we kept walking. I see Grace lying down asleep she woke up by the sound of our footsteps on the snow. She gets up and jumps on me." I will make sure everyone is safe I will complete my promises. Now let's go find my mother." I said with a determined face. I grin and take my backpack." Ashton promise me we will be together and we are now not just friends but more than that." I said, he started blushing. He smiles and put his arms on my shoulders. He kissed me. We kept walking." I promise no matter what." He replied.
