Chapter 6: The New Color?

It's morning now and when I step out of the tent I start packing and then see Ashton. Looking at him just makes me blush. We kissed last night and it was like a dream! I can still feel his soft lips. We grab everything and I have the dog this time on my hands. She's so cute. We all start walking into the snowed woods. Ashton catches up to me and looks at me admiring the dog." Cut isn't she" Ashton said. He didn't startle me. I turn to him and smile, and blush. We finished and start moving. I look down at my chest and see my necklace(amulet) glow and wonder, what does it mean? Ashton and Lydia look back at me. The dog looks up and sniffed it. We pause. All of them are examining my amulet. I look at Lydia with a questioned face. She turns to her bag and digs in to find that book we found 2 days ago. She found the book and turned to the page that shows my gem." You see this glow is really different. It's changing into different colors. Let's see..." Lydia explains, she scans the page." The gems change colors for a purpose. Apparently your gem is changing because it is keeping the most special moments that you've had to protect them so you never forget!" She continued. Oh! So what moment is it keeping then? I wonder why? Color finally stop and changed to blue. So there are a lot of important memories in here." So what type of moment?" I ask." More like a favorite or special memory like...new accomplishment." She responds. Like my kiss with Ashton. I'm sure that's in there." Well let's keep going!" Ashton says. We continue on and then, Lydia stops and asks," Is that a glacier over at the other side, where we are headed?", hopefully not! We can't let nothing get between me seeing my mom again. I'm sure the last time was when I was born. I want to see her." I don't think we are headed that way...but we can go around it if we do." I said. Positivity will help her calm down. We keep walking and I see a broken bridge. But we were heading that way and there was the glacier. I guess I can build a bridge? It probably won't hold? Worth a try." I can build a bridge!" I stated. They all look at me like I was crazy, even the dog." Well out of ice...it could work!" they step aside and I give the dog to Ashton, I motion my hand and ice comes out. But, it will make everything slippery! I added snow on top to make sure we don't slip. I look behind me and everyone was shocked." Well let's get going!" Lydia hands me the dog and sits on a rock. She looks sad. What's wrong?" Lydia? Is everything okay?" I look at her, worried. She glances at us. She let a tear. I knelt down and hugged her." I have something to explain to you." She says, I look at her like if I was ready for the news."I'm not officially, well legally your guardian. I'm your deliverer. I was sent to give you to a legal guardian. But she died and I was left to take care of you. I lied about it for a while, until the guardian got a letter... I confessed to the queen. But she was mad because I lied to her because she trusted. I was her best friend until your father happened... but when she gave birth to all of you, I thought I could help and get her back as a friend. But when she was mad. She said and predicted my punishment was death and it would happen 2 days after you found out about the entire truth. It was my curse. So today is the day I...pass away. A week before this, she warned me, and apologized, she didn't want to lose me she was being a fool, she said. So now we both aren't sure what is next for me." She said. Poor Lydia. I don't want to lose her. She kept crying. I stand up," Don't worry we won't let that happen" I say, I glance toward Ashton. We all get up and walk carefully on the bridge. Lydia raised me. She was the best. I can't lose her now. Even with all that is going on. I love her with all my heart she was like my aunt. She was my best friend. I won't let anything happen to her. We all care...even Ashton. She's helped us all. If it weren't for her I wouldn't be here or know anything. We continue walking. This is a very long walk. It's getting dark. Hopefully we're all safe.
