"Let's go again," MacKenzie whispered.
"We've had sex four times tonight. You're gonna get a cramp or something." Roy put his hand to MacKenzie's flushed face.
"I'm not finished yet," she said, pinning Roy's wrists to the bed and sinking her teeth into the soft flesh of his neck.
He moaned.
The moon spilled its white light onto the silken bedsheets entwined in their bodies. MacKenzie was glowing. Roy couldn't seem to say no to her. Not when she was glowing.
"You're a child of sin," Roy growled. "I'm starting to think you like this whole control thing."
MacKenzie stopped. "Okay I dare you to try to be on top."
"That's not what I meant," Roy grinned.
"The power struggle is over. You asked me to marry you."
PINNACLE. SUMMIT. PEAK. APEX. REEEELEEEEAAASE.
"What on earth, did I do to deserve you," Roy breathed.
"Jumped off a bridge," MacKenzie casually responded.
Roy put his arm around MacKenzie and rested his chin on the top of her head.
Things have changed for me.
"Would you ever look for that job again."
"Huh?"
"Would you work at a hospital again."
"Well, it is what I want to do."
"You can't take care of me forever."
"Yes I can."
"Sooner or later I'm gonna take care of you."
MacKenzie huffed in protest.
"Whether you like it or not."
"You're the best patient I've ever had, you know that?"
"Had a feeling."
"I think about that a lot."
"I don't doubt it, Kenz."
"I could kiss you right now."
"Nothing is stopping you."
"That's the thing about things," MacKenzie smiled. "I look at you a lot. Most of the time you've got that thousand mile dead-eyed stare, and then there's that thing you do with your eyebrows when you're grumpy-"
"I don't get grumpy."
"You're always grumpy."
Okay, maybe.
"And then I get mad at you or something, but then I can't, because you go handsome."
"Go handsome?"
"There-there you go. You just went handsome again."
"Wait-why are you mad at me?"
"I'm not. I'm just saying."
Roy kissed her forehead.
"Hey let's do somethin' tomorrow."
"Mmm."
"We can't stay in this hotel forever."
"Yeah we can," MacKenzie insisted.
"You wanna get outta North Dakota?"
"Yeah."
"Where you wanna go?"
"Oklahoma."
"No."
"Yes."
"No."
"What would you do better? Los Angeles?"
"What? Um. I don't know. I don't know."
"Where would you be happy?"
"Wherever you are."
"Well yeah, I know that."
"Are you ever gonna get a ring?"
"Huh?"
"You asked me to marry you but you didn't have a ring."
"Oh. Yeah. I'll get right on that."
"Sure you will." MacKenzie got up and stretched, heading towards the bathroom to turn on the shower.
"I will," Roy said.
MacKenzie sat back down on the bed. "Our life, right now; it's at a crossroads."
"Yeah."
"I don't know where it's going or where we're going or what's gonna happen."
"Me either."
"All I know is that it's gonna be spent with you."
She kissed Roy on the forehead.
"I'm glad you think so," he replied."
"Now," MacKenzie smiled. "Who's up for some shower sex?"
