Scene changes, lights fade in on a kitchen, we see Sandra having coffee with the radio on. Dean comes in, Sandra doesn't notice him until he moves the chair to sit down and have his breakfast
Sandra: Oh good morning sweetheart
Dean: Morning
Sandra: How did you sleep last night? Is it still happening?
Pause
Dean: Yes, they still happen
Sandra moves towards Dean and kneels towards him, he eats his breakfast and completely ignores her
Sandra: I promise we will fix this one way or another, okay?
Dean: You can't fix the fact that father is no longer here...
Sandra gets slightly angry
Sandra: Dean, that was six years ago, you need to move on now. True, his death has affected you terribly but there's nothing we can do but move on
Dean: You've moved on...
Sandra: What's that supposed to mean?
Dean does not answer
Sandra: Honey I needed to move on from your father, he's no longer here! We need to survive and not just on the benefits...
Dean: So, you're just seeing him for the money...
Sandra: No I'm not
Dean: You don't love him; you just want his money in your pocket...
Sandra becomes furious
Sandra: How dare you! How dare you say that to your own mother! Get out, go to school and don't come back till you have a suitable apology
Dean stands up and pushes his bowl off the table breaking it in the process and snatches his bag. He exits. Sandra stands up and covers her mouth in amazement of her son's comments, she starts to tear up. Fadeout, fade in back onto Arthur typing away
Arthur: He wasn't completely wrong. After Alexander's death, the financial deficit of the Norman household dwindled into obscurity and after losing her job she tried all she could to try and get some cash in her pocket even if it meant seeing another man
Fadeout
