After my graduation we all met up at Korey and Chanel's apartment. Everyone was just gushing over baby Kody , he was the cutest blend of Korey and Chanel. I was so proud of my big brother for stepping up and handling his responsibility. He would make grandma Taylor so proud of him.
"Give me my nephew , you are so stingy Braelyn ", Kaiden whined lightly grabbing baby Kody from my arms.
We all sat around Chanel's sitting room, while the guys played the game in the living room.
"It's your turn Lo, when you going to push one out ?", my cousin Jai asked.
Everything got awkwardly silent , not everyone knew of Lauren's fertility issues. I knew Lauren didn't like talking about those things.
"Girl, I need to have sex first , it's been months", Lauren laughed and left the room. I could tell the question made her uncomfortable , so I just left her alone.
"So how is LA, I still can't believe you left us for some snotty nose boy?", Chanel asked as she sat in her chair pumping Kody's bottles .
All you saw was Kaiden smiling ear to ear.
"LA is good , I'm in talks with some people from Vogue and Bazaar west coast offices . In the meantime I'm enjoying the sites and my man", she replied matter of factly. Jai gave Kaiden a high five as they laughed .
Jai along with her brother and sister were placed in foster care when their grandmother died. However , I found Jai on Facebook one day about 4 years ago and we had been in touch ever since .
Her brother Jermaine was serving a 10 year sentence in jail for possession with the intent to distribute and her sister was living in Atlanta at Spelman.
"I'm just glad you are here, hopefully I can convince you to move to NYC with us", I told her .
"No mam, I am good as long as my love is in Atlanta . So will I be ", she busted out laughing .
"Girl, you are a mess . But seriously you should stay a couple of days . We move next week into our first house I'm so excited ", I explained to her as I laid back in the chair with a plate on my 8 1/2 month stomach .
"I'll see what I can do , the king may not want me gone that long", Jai said as she scrolled through her phone .
Later That Evening.. (Omniscient)
Lauren lay in bed staring at the ceiling , letting the smoke blow in the air. She had Anita playing in the background and the TV watching her ever move .
