Stalker the NightWing laid comfortably in his furs, eyes fixated on the dancing flames in the center of the tent. It was much warmer than the chilled desert winds outside. The flaps of the tent rustled, and Stalker lifted his head to greet his son, who left his sand board by the entrance.
"Splinter." Stalker smiled "You're back awful late. Busy day?"
"Yeah." Splinter said, peeling his goggles off and shaking his head. The hybrid gathered some stones out of the hollow of his sandboard. "Been at those scavenger ruins. Some good finds."
"Out with that little hybrid, I heard. Sundial?"
Splinter stopped for a moment, before snapping out of it and placing the stones on his workbench. "Y-yeah... Why?"
"Are you and her...?"
"Oh three moons, dad, no. It wasn't anything like that."
"Your brother said he saw you teaching her to surf."
"That doesn't mean anything."
....
"She is quite a sweetheart though, isn't she?" Stalker spoke, stretching his legs
"Yeah. Thinking about making her a sandboard. She's a really fast learner, and a sweet surfer too."
"Be fun to race I'm guessing?"
"I'd finally have a challenge. Bobtail is a sucky surfer."
"Its good to hear you're finally getting along with other dragons..."
....
Stalker popped his neck. "There's some roasted camel left over if your hungry."
"I am SO hungry."
So Splinter laid down next to his father, and gnawed on a camel's leg while watching the flames...
