Derek went to his locker, and as usual, when he opened it tons of letters fell down.
But one always stood out.
It was a small piece of paper, just a scratch to be honest. And, as always, it had a message on it. The same message he had read almost everyday since they became a thing.
Please pay attention to me.
And it had always been written by the same person.
His girlfriend.
He first saw her during one of his adventure to explore the human anatomy of a girl in a library. He picked the newspaper section, since, who the heck would read the newspapers nowadays?
He was about to explode when he heard a small cough coming from behind, surprising him and the girl who was to busy in pleasuring herself more.
The first thought that entered his mind was, there still were some people who does read the papers.
And then his mind went back to reality.
He couldn't concentrate anymore as his eyes trained on the disturber. Although he was annoyed at the fact that the intruder caught them at the worst time, he couldn't help but overlook her.
She was wearing a loose sweatshirt paired with some joggers and some rubber shoes. She had cat-eyes shaped glasses, above her black eyes. She had black hair that went until her waist section.
Plain looking girl to be honest. But a rare one to find in his town since most of them are redheads or blondes.
The girl's eyes widened as if realization struck her. And before he could stop her, she dashed away murmuring the words 'I'm sorry'.
And with that, he couldn't do it anymore. Not when someone intruded something that wasn't supposed to be seen. He pulled out, ignoring the moan of complaint from the girl and fixed himself before leaving the library.
He went out, hoping to find the intruder. But his hopes was crushed when the bell rang and students went out the room.
He had skipped his second class already.
"Shit."
And with that he ran towards his locker, where his friends waited for him. And she was there.
She looked breathtaking as usual.
Her blonde hair stuck fantastically to her pale complexion, and her dark blue eyes shone as if she had the whole world behind it. She turned towards him, her cheerleader uniform straight and clean as she smiled and greeted a cheerful hello. The other guys greeted too.
She wasn't that typical bitchy cheerleader. She had the most genuine personality ever, and is not afraid to speak her mind. She's the top one on his batch, and always did her best in both academics and extra curricular activities. And not to mention her goddess-like features.
She was the epitome of perfection.
Too bad.
She likes someone already.
And all Derek can do is watch from afar, seeing her smile for a reason that is not him.
A sad smile graced Derek's face, feeling the bitterness filling his heart. There's no use in loving someone who loves someone else.
