Derek entered the room, quickly sensing the tense atmosphere.
The small figure at the corner could not be mistaken, loud sobs coming out of her mouth, rocking her body back and forth.
Derek swallowed the lump on his throat, carefully going to where the fragile girl was sitting on. He sat down quietly on the floor beside her, and then went on to comfort the blonde beauty beside him.
After a while, she began to speak brokenly.
"Am I ugly, Derek?"
And the question made Derek widen his eyes.
No words can describe how beautiful she is. She looks at herself less than what she actually is. Through his eyes, she was his saviour. The reason why he's still holding on, why he's still living happily. With just a simple smile from her, he'd feel whole.
It wasn't as if he was suicidal. But Derek always thought of reasons why life isn't worth living anymore. And always, he tries to find the one reason why its worth it. And it's her.
Derek hugged her tight, trying to demonstrate his love for her. Trying to tell her that she is so much more than the douchebag who made her cry.
After a while, Derek couldn't stop himself from thinking of ways on how to let the person pay for making Levilla cry.
"Who did this?" Derek asked, lightly brushing the hair off the face of his sweetheart.
Levilla was still shaking, but not as severe as earlier. "He broke up with me."
Derek then felt anger he never felt before. All he saw was red.
Levilla, feeling the tension from his body, looked up and started to get worried.
"Derek-"
"No! He deserves what's coming for him, he shouldn't of messed with someone who I care for very much."
"Derek," she started, "let it go. He was gentleman enough to do it in private and not disrespect me. He doesn't deserve any bad coming to him."
Derek breathed hard before looking straight into her eyes.
The ocean-blue eyes stared back at him, filled with sadness and an emotion he could not detect.
Before he could say anything, his breath was knocked out of him as the fragile girl locked her arms around his neck and kissed him hard and passionately.
He knew what's right.
He knew he shouldn't take advantage of the situation.
But he couldn't stop what he was feeling.
So he pushed her away. He didn't know what could've happened if he let things go on. As much as he wanted to do this, he couldn't do that to her. He didn't want to take advantage.
And, he also had a girlfriend.
The hurt in her eyes almost made Derek pull her lips back to his. Almost.
"We can't."
Levilla blushed, looking down.
"O-oh right, you have a girlfriend." She pushed her hair behind her ear, moving away from him a little bit.
