Natasha starts humming when we leave the hot tub area, our hands locked proudly together. I eye her in my peripheral vision, wondering for her sudden need of humming. My cheeks start burning red when I recognize the tune and her lips part to start singing instead when she catches it. She literally bursts out in song as people walk by us, not giving a single shit. It's not that her voice isn't lovely though; it is, really. We're just... in public.
"This thing... called love. I just can't handle it." She steps in front of me to start walking backward, holding both of my hands. She dances a little as she walks, making a wide smile form on my face. As people stare, she keeps her eyes locked on mine and I begin to get lost in them. Nothing else matters besides her and I. "This thing... called love. I must get 'round to it. I ain't ready. Crazy little thing called love." She pulls me closer by one hand and swirls me around. We take up the whole hall, dancing and acting like idiots.
I take up the next verse, singing, "This thing... called love. It cries, like a baby, in a cradle all night." I laugh as she snaps her fingers to the beat. "It swings, it jives. It shakes all over like a jellyfish. I kinda like it! Crazy little thing called love."
Natasha claps enthusiastically, gaining even more attention and points at me with one hand. Her eyes turn to complete heart eyes, which I die (in a good way) every time they're directed at me.
"There goes my baby. She knows how to rock 'n' roll. She drives me crazy."
Smiling, I cover my face, feeling overwhelmed with euphoria.
"She gives me hot and cold fever, then leaves me in a cool, cool sweat. I gotta be cool. Relax. Get h-"
"Okay, I think that's enough." I pull her down the hall in a speedy walk, dodging around people. This place is surprisingly busy. Then again, today is a Saturday so that could explain it.
"But why? I was just getting into it." Natasha laughs and wraps her arm around my waist.
"I don't think these random people deserve to hear our wonderful signing without a fair compensation first," I joke.
"I could surely go back and ruffle some up for cash."
"Yeah, right."
We reach the elevator, and I click the button to the third floor. I glance around the empty box occupied by just me and my girlfriend. I subtly glance at the upper corners, seeing no security cameras. That causes my eyebrow to raise. It's surprising because this is a fairly nice place. Security cameras should be a given. In this case, I'm glad they're not.
One glance at Natasha and seeing how she bites her lip, I magnetize towards her. My lips crash against hers as her back slams against the wall of the elevator. She seemed prepared for this movement to occur but seeing how hard she hit it makes me think otherwise. She knows what she does to me though and this was her plan. It was inevitable. Still, she grips onto my lower back and pulls me into her to leave no space, as if she's afraid I'll float away. From the thick barrier of robes between both of our bodies, I still feel the heat radiating off her skin. And it is energizing.
Our lips break apart as soon as the elevator dings. In the two seconds it takes for the door to open, we stand side-by-side, acting like nothing happened. We get a strange look from the elderly couple waiting to enter, but it's probably from our clearly swollen lips.
I get dragged out of the elevator, pleasantly ready for what's about to come next. I'm shaking with excitement. The six doors we pass to get to ours seems to take forever and the way her shaky hands press the card into the lock to make the light turn green seems to take an eternity. I'd gladly fast forward that time in a heartbeat.
