"A hospital is like a safe place."

YN's P.O.V.

YN-What's this we have here? I asked as I ran into the room and saw a patient unconscious on the bed.

Surrounded by nurses and doctors with blood everywhere they all said the same thing "Fatal car accident!"

YN-OR immediately! I made a command as we headed to the operating room as a team.

As the team prepped the emergency patient for surgery I was scrubbing in.

YN-Page Simmons! I said to my resident next to me.

Resident-U-umm...? She was confused as to why I would page myself.

I giggled.

YN-Page the other Simmons. I was referring to my husband who was the head neurosurgeon.

She shook her head as I scrubbed in by washing my hands.

The door opened for me as I stood waiting for my gloves and scrubs to be put on me.

YN-Thank you. I said to my attendees before walking over to the patient, grabbing the scalpel and beginning to work.

Thompson-Severe bleeding in the brain, and all major bones are broken, Dr.Simmons. She informed me as she stood next to the tool table.

YN-Patient name? Anyone have personal information.

Thompson-Justine Simmons.

YN-WHO!? I looked at her in shock when she told me this was Diggy's mother.

Diggy's P.O.V

Diggy-With that being said, our hospital is not liable for death considering Mrs.Foster was elderly and died of natural cau-

One of my wife's residents walked into my office.

Resident-Dr.Simmons, your wife needs you in OR 6. She said before running out.

I quickly ended my phone conversation and ran down to the OR.

I scrubbed in and headed into the operating area as the attendees put my scrubs on for me.

Diggy-What's going on here? I asked YN as I was handed a scalpel.

YN-Severe internal bleeding, especially to the head, all major bones broken, unconscious since she got here. Right now I'm restoring the rib but she's got some serious brain injuries that need attention immediately. She said while making an incision.

The woman's blood began to squirt everywhere.

Diggy-CLAMP! I said aloud so I could help stop the bleeding.

The attendee handed me a clamp and I clamped down the artery that was bleeding.

The machine began to beep.

Thompson-Too much blood! She's losing way to much blood.

YN-We have to begin manual resuscitation.

My wife began to pump the heart as quick as she could while still doing the procedure properly as the woman's blood squirted everywhere.

Diggy-Any personal information on the patient? I asked Thompson frantically as I clamped down the problem and my wife tried to save the woman.

Thompson took a deep breath and looked me in my eyes.

Thompson-Diggy, this is your mother.

My heart almost stopped.

My grip loosened on the clamp and I stared at my wife as she kept pumping.

Blood began to squirt upward and all over everyone.

YN-DIGG- BABY! TIGHTEN THAT CLAMP! BE STRONG! She looked at me with fear in her eyes.

I refocused myself and tightened the clamp.

YN looked at the monitor as the flat line beep went off.

Diggy- 4 CC's of Metamorphine! I made a command.

YN-NO! Her heart can't handle that, she's already on oxy for pre-surgery.

Diggy-4 CC's of metamorphine NOW! I said as the attendees added a dose of the medicine to my mothers IV.

The flatline beep still went off.

YN shook her head at me and kept pumping.

Thompson-She's been down for 10 minutes now. She said while looking at the clock on the wall.

YN stopped pumping as tears streamed down her face and put her blood hand on her hip.

Diggy-NO! NO! THOMPSON DO NOT!

YN-Thompson...

Thompson cleared her throat before saying it.

Thompson-Time of death, 17:23.

I let go of the clamp and no more blood squirted.

With my bloody glove I felt my mothers neck for a pulse.

YN-Daniel...

Diggy-*Clears his throat* We tried. I said before slowly walking out of the operating area.
