Time Races On

[Nina's POV]

I ran through the woods, trying to get away as Leona was coming after me. I got to a huge ditch and fell in. It seemed shorter before, but now I was falling for a long time. I reached the end and fell into fire. I screamed and woke up from the nightmare. Amber ran up to me.

"Nina? Are you ok?"

I was breathing deeply.

"Bad dream, Amber."

"Wow. I'll get Fabian."

I pulled her arm.

"No, I'm fine. I don't need Fabian."

"Ok. I'm here for you."

I fell back asleep.

[Amber's POV]

I can't believe that just happened. Nina freaked out over a bad dream and I tried to get Fabian for her, but she didn't want him. That is just bizarre. The next morning, I tied my hair into a neat bun and went downstairs for breakfast. Fabian was already down there with dreary eyes.

"Hey, Fabian. How's it going."

He groaned.

"Well, good morning to you too."

He looked at me.

"Sorry, Amber. I'm just really tired. Have you seen Nina?"

"She's still sleeping. She had a rough night."

Fabian started to get up, but I stopped him.

"You're not going to see her!"

"Why not? I'm her boyfriend."

"Who cares? She's really tired."

"Just for a few minutes?"

"Fine. But make it quick."

He left with a hurry.

[Fabian's POV]

I walked upstairs to see Nina. She was facing away from me, apparently sleeping. I stroked her long brown hair. She shuttered.

"I'm sorry, Nina. I just came to see how you were doing."

She sat up.

"Its ok, I'm just really tired."

She started freaking out.

"Nina, what is it? Are you alright?"

She grabbed my hand.

"Leona's threatening me. She says if we don't find that flame in three days, I'm dead."

I hugged her tightly.

"It'll be ok, you'll live. I'll see to it."

We both left the room quickly, going to school, then to find that flame.
