Okay before y'all read the chapter, let me state that this is not historically accurate. BUT, this is the final chapter involving the war; which means prepare yourselves ;););)

Two Weeks Later

The army had been heading towards a British camp near YorkTown for what feels like a week now. At this point I was considering cutting my feet off.

Though, John also had to trudge along with me. Alexander and Lafayette on the other hand were blessed enough to get horses.

A tinge of excitement kept me going, Hercules would be meeting us outside of the British camp.

John nudged my arm, grabbing my attention. "Word is we'll reach the outskirts of the camp around dusk."

"Thank god," I mumbled causing John to chuckle, "I do hope this all works out in our favor." I added.

"As do I." He said in agreement.

I sighed, trying to distract myself from my aching feet.

"So." John said, looking at me.

"So?" I responded.

He started to wiggle his eyebrows and I instantly got a bad feeling from it.

"You and Alexander have any plans? If this is the end, that is." He says, causing me to roll my eyes.

I glanced towards him and sighed, "You're his best friend, shouldn't you know his 'plans'?" I asked, hoping I wouldn't have to explain.

"I know he has deep feelings for you, [Your Name]." He said, honestly.

I bit my lip before replying, "Truth be told, I have feelings for him as well. Yet, it is too early to know if our feelings are deep enough for marriage."

"You know, if you two are meant for each other, perhaps getting married wouldn't hurt.." he insisted.

"With marriage comes children, I'm not ready for that." I told him.

"Do you want children?" John asked.

A small smile spread across my lips as the thought crossed my mind. "Of course, just it is too early for me. I shouldn't even be thinking about children when I'm yet to find a husband."

"Well, you ran away from your other one." John said, earning an elbow in the arm from me.

"Ha-ha." I said, rolling my eyes.

"It's been a year or two since then, hasn't it?" He asked. (A/N, the Revolution lasted for 8 years. But I suppose we can just say Y/N came in later, towards the end of the revolution.)

"Since what?" I responded, trying to think.

"Since you ran away and met the others and I." He explained.

I smiled and nodded, "I don't regret running away from that wedding, either. It's much more exciting living the way we are. Sure, it is dangerous; but life is too long to waste, no?"

John clapped, gaining stares from the other soldiers around us. "Very inspiring, [Your Name]."

I smiled and then turned my attention back to the path ahead of us.
