Adopted by Demi (Spy/Agent)

Chapter 10

  I ran into Demi, in sweats and a band shirt. I quickly grabbed her before laughing at her. She glared at me quickly. I ran downstairs to grab my book and took the stairs two at a time. I went down the hallways noticing Demi's light on. I poked my head through to see her in bed scrolling through her phone. She looked up at me with a smile.
  "Hey baby." She smiled at me. She turned her phone off putting it on her nightstand.
  "Hey mom, goodnight." I said to her before walking into my room noticing the smile on her face from calling her mom. I went into my room and turned the light on and started reading. I read for an hour before Dems walked in looking at me. I finished my chapter quickly before looking at her. I raised an eyebrow at her.
  "Cuddles?" She asked in a childish voice. I smiled at her and patted the bed next to me. She smiled and started walking towards me.
  "Turn off the light off!" I suddenly say to her making her jump. She chuckles and turns around to turn the light off. She turns towards me with a smile on her face. I see a shadow dance behind her. I quickly jump out of bed. Demi looks at me weirdly. I push her out of the way before someone comes out of the dark hallway with a knife. I grab their arm keeping it away from my face.
  "Call Allie on my phone quick say code 46." I quickly said to Demi. She nodded still in shock. I flipped the person over. I attempted to grab the knife, they skinned my arm. Blood was pouring out of my arm. I faintly heard Demi talking to Allie. She gasped when she saw my arm. The person looked over at her and tried to get up I help them down. They kept scratching me. Allie barged in, Hunter behind her closely followed by Alex. Allie quickly grabbed the person and Hunter disarmed him. I was quickly loosing blood. I was starting to feel hazy, reaching the three quarts mark. Alex had taken off my shirt and tied it tightly around the large cut. Then everything went black, the last thing I saw was Demi looking at me worriedly.
  I open my eyes quickly a bright light shining. I felt like death. Well then, never been like this before. I looked around me. I was in headquarters hospital. Demi was sleeping next to me. Her face was red and puffy. I noticed she had a water bottle in her hands. I slowly took it out of her hands. I drank half of it. Which was the rest of it. She won't mind. She stole my food I steal her water. I looked around. It was night so no one was up. I was like really hungry. I didn't want to wake her so I just sat there. Well this is taking too long. I poked her with my finger she groaned for a while.
  "Mom, I'm hungry," I whined,"please." She was barely awake not taking in any information. She nodded and went to get me food. She came back still practically asleep. She gave me a sandwich.
  "Thanks." I whispered. She almost fell asleep. She looked at me completely awake, like I had died and came back. I was just eating the sandwich I cocked an eyebrow. She had tears in her eyes and hugged me, very tight. I almost dropped my sandwich. I patted her back awkwardly. Finally she sat back down, now I can eat my sandwich. It was turkey. If I wasn't so hungry I would be angry, there was no provolone. I just ate my sandwich.
  "I drank your water." I said looking down in shame. She chuckled. She grabbed my hand which had crumbs. I laughed as she brushed the crumbs off her hand.
  "How long was I out?" I asked Demi and turned on my side so I could look at her. She had a look of sadness cross her face.
  "A week." She said. That was a record. I pumped my arm. She looked at me weirdly.
  "I made myself a new record." I said excited. She looked at me like I had two heads. She shook her head. I opened my arms, which you could barely see but there was a slight glow in the room. She climbed in next to me on my right side where there weren't any IVs. It was tight but I buried my head in her chest. She inhaled in deeply. She put her arm around me, like if she didn't I would leave.
  "Goodnight baby." She said quietly to me. I moved away from her so I could see her face. I smiled at her softly.
  "Goodnight Dems." She seemed a little sad I called her Dems but smiled anyways and pulled me close to her. Her soft vanilla smell enveloping me as well as her arms. I pulled the light hospital blanket up covering my head, which only went to Demi's shoulders. She chuckled and brought the blanket up past her head. She softly combed her hands through my hair, I slowly fell asleep noticing she wasn't going to soon.
  I woke up the bed cold. I looked around for Demi and saw her walking back in. I pouted at her. She chuckled at me. She had a coffee and a bag. I smelled some muffins but I just wanted to sleep.
  "Cuddles?" I asked with a smile. She drank some coffee and climbed in bed with me. She was sitting against the headboard her arms around me. I fell back asleep feeling safe in Demi's arms. I woke up to noise around us. I turned and hid into Demi. I could sleep for another week. She chuckled. I heard Allie laughing. I quickly stuck my head out of the blanket.
  "Allie-Bear," I said excitedly to her," I broke my record, one week." She smiled lightly at me. I gave knuckles to Hunter and Alex. Demi chuckled at us. She was sipping her coffee which smelled horrible.
  "How'd you sleep, mom?" I asked her looking back at her. Everyone else looked surprised I called her mom.
  "Good baby, and yourself?" She asked smiling. I gave a thumbs up. I went to tie my hair up but I didn't have a hair tie.
  "Do any of you have a hair tie?" I asked. Allie gave me a black one. I quickly tied my fuzzy brown hair into a tight top bun. I almost hit Demi with my elbows, whoops. I snuggled back into Demi.
  "Bunny we'll get going. We swept your house and will put it under protection when you go back." Allie said to me. I nodded. They gave me hugs and waved when they walked out.
  "Momma, when are we going home?" I asked looking up at her. She smiled.
  "Soon, baby, soon." I nodded and hid my face in her chest. She wrapped an arm around me softly tugging the knots out of my hair. I was close to falling asleep. When I realised, didn't she have a job?
  "I thought you had interviews." I said confused.
  "Baby I couldn't leave you in a hospital." She said. I nodded.
  "I would have been fine." I reassured her.
  "I don't think I would have." She joked. She was scrolling through her phone. I looked at her. She looked at me and quirked an eyebrow.
  "Yes, child?" She said jokingly.
  "Nothing, except you should shower," I said,"I need a shower too." I said realizing. She chuckled. I pushed the blue button by the bed. A doctor came out.
  "Yes, Ms. Lovato?" First I was confused who she was talking to, then I realised I was a Lovato. Demi laughed at me.
  "Can I go and shower?" I asked. The doctor nodded. I quickly got out of bed before realising I don't have a shirt on. I shrieked causing the doctor to look at me Demi to laugh at me. I scowled at her. I quickly grabbed a shirt from the side of the room and grabbing cloths for after. I put a shirt on before traveling to the showers. I heard someone open the door.
  "Hello?" I heard Demi call. I peeked my head out from the shower.
  "Yes?" I said feeling uncomfortable.
  "Oh nothing." She said. I continued to wash my hair. I hear footsteps and dismiss it. I heard the shower turn on next to me. I see Demi. What the heck?
  "What are you doing?" I asked covering my chest.
  "Showering." She said like it was nothing.
  "Go shower over there, not right next to me weirdo." I said. Looking at her weirdly. She chuckled and moved. Goodness. She showered on the other side. I quickly finished and turned off the shower. I grabbed a towel and left putting some clothes on. I walked barefoot back to the hospital area. I walked up to the front desk.
  "Hey I'm Eliza Lovato, legal name Emily Lovato. ID number 103253793 (I probably won't remember this so if it changes later don't judge me.) She quickly looked it up.
  "I would like to discharge myself." She nodded and quickly gave me the paperwork. Demi walked back in drying her hair. I was almost finished. I quickly signed and almost put Reidy instead of Lovato. She came over and saw what I was doing.
  "You can sign yourself out?" She asked like it was rocket science. I nodded. I put in some last information and signed again. I gave it to the lady.
  "Thanks, Ms. Lovato. I will get it finalised and give you your papers." She said before typing some things in.
  "Goodness, Dems, making my information change so I have to fill it out." I joked with her. She laughed.
  "What do you want from me?" She yelled playfully at me. I laughed at her. She had her hand over her heart.
  "Ms. Lovato." Demi started to walk over, then realised it was me. I laughed at her. She stood behind me. She gave me my papers to look over. She then went back to typing.
  "Lets hit the road." I said excitedly I grabbed her stuff from by my ex-hospital bed. She chuckled at me as I ran to walk next to her. We walked out. I stood up straighter than usual. I kept it pretty professional. We walked to the garage. I went to mine. Demi's car was next to mine. She unlocked the car.
  "Shotgun!" I yelled. She laughed at me. We got in. I turned the radio up. It was my jam. Eminem. It was an old song but I don't care. I was rapping it like owned it. Or something. Demi looked at me weirdly. The song finished. Then a sappy song came on and I turned it down. She pulled up at our house. After almost hitting an old lady. I went inside. I grabbed my babies and sat at the counter. I ate three. Demi walked in frowning at me eating cookies.
  "You aren't supposed to get those." She said to me.
  "But, mom." I dragged the m out at the end. She raised an eyebrow at me. I nodded and put them back before lovingly patting them. I pouted at her. I went to grab my phones and book. I ran upstairs quickly, well shoot. There was a little blood on my white carpet. I called a carpeting place to get it replaced. I grabbed my book and phones.
  "That was a lot of blood." I said with a look of disgust. She looked at me sadly.
  "Baby, why did you push me out of the way?" She asked sadly. I shrugged.
  "I love you." I said with a smile. She half smiled."It wasn't your fault momma. I promise." With a sad look.
  "I love you too baby." It was quiet for a while, as I was reading and she was on her phone. I got a phone call, Allie.
  "Yes, Allie-Bear?" I asked.
  "People from the agency will be at your house soon. Make sure to have them flash their badges, they should show you it once, then show it again. It's our code." Allie said.
  "Okay, bye love you." I said.
  "Love you too Bunny." She said and hung up. I realised I had to be breifed on the tour. It was almost dark.
  "Mum, the guards will be here soon they should flash their badges twice." She nodded and went back on her phone. I crawled across the couch and laid my head on her shoulder. She didn't look at me. I heard a knock on the door and ran over to get it. There were four guards. They flashed their badges once. I nodded quickly and told them to wait.
I called Allie. Telling her they only flashed once.
  "Bunny they aren't supposed to be there yet." I quickly grabbed a gun. I shot them all in both their legs. Demi came from the living room with tears in her eyes. I looked at her. Smiled at her until I realised I had four guys with blood pouring out of their legs outside our door. I closed the door and locked it.
  "Sorry 'bout that." I said. She hugged me.
  "I thought you were shot." She blinked away a few tears. I shook my head gave her a kiss on the cheek.
  "Perfectly fine, see." I turned around before fake falling causing her to gasp. She hit me on the arm. Another knock came at the door. Another set of guards flashed their badges at me twice. I nodded at them.
  "I need one of your to take these guys to an interrogation tell them Eliza Lovato or Reidy sent them." One guy nodded and carried two guys to a car and then the others.
  One guard stayed at the door while the others went various places around the exterior of the house. The guy came back, flashed his badge twice and went to his supposed position. I closed the door and locked it. Demi had gone to sit on the couch. I went upstairs and changed into some short shorts and a tee-shirt. I walked into the kitchen. I ordered some chinese. I love Chinese. I told the guard quickly. I went into the living room to see Demi with her back facing me. I wrapped my arms around her shoulders causing her to jump and hit my nose.  I cursed. My nose started to bleed I went to the kitchen and got a towel quickly. Demi rushed over.
  "I am so sorry baby." I shook my head. I quickly wet another towel so I could clean up some blood on the floor. Demi took the towel from me, causing me to frown at her. She wasn't looking at me I grabbed some cash and put it in my pocket so I could pay when the food came. My nose stopped bleeding when I quickly, but painfully, put in back in to place, causing me to scream out and tears to well up in my eyes. Demi looked at me and quickly got up and hugged me and wiped the tears that had fallen. Then the doorbell rang. I went to get it. I gave the guy the money and took the food and smiled at the guard. I grabbed the bag. When I came into the kitchen Demi was on the phone. I smiled at her, she frowned when she saw I already had food.
  "No actually cancel that order." She said. I laughed. She put her phone down. I put the food out. She grabbed some plates and forks.
  "I told you I would pay this time. How much was it?" She said, not looking at me. I quickly took the receipt and put it in the recycle bin.
  "Sorry, I already got rid of the receipt." I smiled at her. She narrowed her eyes at me before making a dash to the recycle bin. I stood in front of it. She tried to get past me. She finally got past me grabbing it before grabbing her wallet. I just grabbed my food. I ignored her as she pushed money at me. I ate my food in the living room. She grabbed her food and sat next to me I put my head on her shoulder. I finished and put my plate in the sink. She was only half done. I put my head in her lap. I went to grab my phone as I realised it was ringing. I quickly answered.
  "Liz how have you been?" Thomas asked me.
  "I've been doing good, how have you been babe?" I asked. Demi furrowed her eyebrows when I called him babe.
  "Good, just missing you babe. When are you going to visit?" He asked.
  "I don't know, my parents have made a return."
  "Baby, are you okay with that." He asked concerned.
  "Yes, a little stressed, I could fly you in and pay for your hotel." I said quickly.
  "You know I have a job, I can pay for it." He said.
  "I got it, babe."
  "What time works for you?"
  "I have the next two weeks off."
  "Cool, I'll be off the next week."
  "How about I fly you in tomorrow."
  "Okay baby. I'll see you then. Love you."
  "Love you more, baby." I said before hanging up. I quickly put my phone on the coffee table before sitting on Demi's lap.
  "You have a boyfriend?" She asked.
  "No, I have a big brother." I said to her. She blushed. I laid my head against her chest.
  "It's fine, I hope you don't mind I'm going to visit him."
  "Of course not baby, family is family." She smiled at me putting her arms around my stomach. I reached and grabbed my phone having my assistant get the plane tickets and hotel.
  "Sorry just had my assistant set it up." I said while shutting my eyes.
  "You have an assistant." She asked.
  "Yeah, that's why all my missions are sent to me. I send her my schedule and he chooses missions for me. She's great." I explained.
  "That's amazing baby." She said and gently squeezed me.
   "I want to sleep." She chuckled. I got off of her and went to bed taking my work phone with me. I put it on the charger and laid in bed thinking for a while. Demi came in and laid next to me. I turned around and looked at her.
  "Am I too much?" I asked.
  "Of course not baby." She replied.
  "I'm barely home, and when I am you have to deal with my problems." I said tears forming in my eyes.
  "No, baby, you are amazing." Demi said and squeezed my hand. I shook my head and faced the wall. She whispered sweet nothings into my ear. I scooted away from her. She sighed. I slept on the edge of the bed. I heard Demi fall asleep. I got out of bed I saw tear stains down the side of her face. I felt guilty, I always hurt everyone. I went and slept in her room. The vanilla smell surrounding me. I quickly fell asleep.
