Adopted by Demi (Spy/Agent)

Chapter 14

Demi's POV

"Hey Demi. We found Emily but she has a bit of damage and it might take a bit for her to be energetic like she normally is." Allie said before abruptly ending the call.

 I quickly got dressed again and got in my car before realizing I forgot my keys, something she always would tell me. I grabbed them and told the guys and drove to the place where she was getting medical attention. As I walked by the entrance Hunter was waiting. He smiled sadly at me. I didn't smile back, I didn't feel the need. As we walked it was silent no jokes like there was a week or so ago. As we got closer we found Allie. She nodded at me before letting me in, alone. I saw Emily hooked up to a lot of machines. Her skin shone an almost white contrasting her normally tan look. I grabbed her hand, waking her up. She looked at me confused before going wide eyed. 

"Mom, I am going to be okay right?" She asked surprising me.

"I don't know babe. I can go ask a doctor if you want." I said a few tears in my eyes. She nodded.

I quickly walked off to find Allie and ask where the doctor was as I found him, he looked quite young to be a doctor. Almost 20 if that. 

"Can I have the information on Emily." I stated not leaving room for a no.

"Yes, you must be the mother. She will have a few head pains ranging in severity, back pain and some dizziness. She will be able to get back at it in a week or two. I looked at her mission log and saw there was tour scheduled and we can either get her off it completely or find someone to fill in for a bit to start. She would then fly in later when she was completely better."

"I want her to go on the tour later." I said wanting her by my side

"It's not your decision, Ms. Lovato." He said. I wanted to punch him but Emily wouldn't be very happy if I did. 

"Thanks, doc. I'm going to go tell her now." I said walking back to Emily who was waiting.

"You will have a few head pains, back pains and you might get dizzy." I summarized.

"Can I still go on tour?"

"If you want to. However you have to wait a week or two. Or you can leave the tour."

"Can I come still?" 

"Of course baby, you just have to wait a little longer. I'll just leave before you." She pouted.

"I'll go still. Who's my filler?"

"I don't know babe." I said grabbing her hand.

She smiled at me before moving over and patting the space next to her with no wires. I smiled and got in the bed holding her in my arms. She was facing me her eyes shone a lovely blue. She slowly closed her eyes snuggling into me more. I sighed with a smile before pulling her close happy to have her in my arms again. Her brown hair smelling of smoke.( I don't remember what color her hair was sorry) I couldn't sleep as I was so happy that she chose to still go on tour with me. Allie told me they were leaving quietly not wanting to wake Emily. I nodded. She slowly walked out only turning around once. I checked the time seeing it was almost 12 o'clock in the morning. I slowly drifted off.

I woke up to Emily talking to the doctor. I smiled as she was still tightly wrapped in my arms. I wasn't listening to what they were saying until Emily turned around and asked me a question.

"Wait, what?" I asked as she chuckled at me.

"Do you want to head home now?" She answered with a giggle. I blushed and nodded before slowly getting out of bed. The doctor had walked out during our exchange. She got up before fixing her hair. We walked out before stopping at the entrance to the hospital. She signed herself out making small talk with the receptionist who she seemed to know pretty well. The receptionist then handed over a bag of something before Emily grinned at her and waved.

"Let's get this show on the road." She announced with a grin taking my hand.

"Let's do this." I replied with a chuckle. 

We split at the parking lot as she went to her car. She got in first and I followed her in my car. As we turned I realized she wasn't driving which was probably good. As we got to security she flashed her ID and I followed doing the same. She parked outside before grabbing something and getting out of the car. I got out before Emily had run over and grabbed my hand. I was a little confused as she normally wasn't this, touchy feely. I wasn't complaining though. I led us into the house before she flopped on the couch and I put my keys away. She had moved to make some breakfast. It looked like cereal. My expertise. 

"Do you want some, mom?" She asked with the box of cereal in her hands.

"Sure." 

"Alrighty." She replied getting out a bowl. As she poured the bowl I grabbed the milk and spoons. She came over with the bowls of cereal after she put away the box. I poured the milk in the bowls. I placed them on the counter and immediately started eating the sugary goodness of cinnamon toast crunch. She then took a pill which was a vibrant yellow I guess the color could be better but I really don't care. I then decided that crime shows were the jam for the day so I put my bowl away and got my fluffy blanket and put some betrayed on because I be looking out I see you. 

Emily went up to her room and I heard the shower come on. I continued watching I knew it was the niece's friend. Emily came down the stairs slowly before coming into the living room with her own blanket. She sat on the other side of the couch looking at her phone. I looked over before looking back to the TV.

Emily's POV

I was finding out who was going to be my replacement but it looked like there wasn't going to be one. The doctor didn't update my files. I had to make the call. I walked out into the kitchen before making my call to the doctor. It wasn't a mistake I just had to get through it which was fine I guess. I walked back to the couch.

I headed up to go to bed. I slipped under the covers pulling them over my head. I wrapped the covers around me like a burrito because I'm really cold, I don't know why it's just an all the time thing.  I should really go to sleep. I'm pretty tired. I just grabbed my phone and started to watch some youtube because if I'm not sleeping there is no way I'm just going to stare at the wall. I was watching some random people when I slowly got really tired. I put my phone on the charger before falling asleep. I was half asleep as I heard Demi come upstairs and shower. I completely fell asleep before listening more.
