The Doctor opened his eyes.
And when he looked down, he realised he was in his long-forgotten incarnation: The War Doctor.
He cursed to himself, something he never would normally do but considering he was in his rebellious incarnation, he'd excuse himself this one time.
Suddenly, Captain Jack appeared in the room.
"How did you get here?" the Doctor asked.
"Well, I always come equipped with an extra Vortex Manipulator. I assume you're the Doctor? I've never met this incarnation before..."
"Ah, you're clever. Yeah, it's a long story and one I'd rather not delve into right now..."
"We have to find the others and get back to the TARDIS asap. If I don't get back, I'll keep degenerating until the time when I didn't exist. If I reach the rift energy in the TARDIS, it will restore me back to my current incarnation."
"Wanna ride then?" Jack asked.
The Doctor rolled his eyes as he gripped Jack's device and they both vanished. They appeared in the cave Lewis was in and they landed right beside him. The guns were just about to fire when Jack yelled "GRAB MY WATCH!" and the three disappeared, not before the Doctor's time turned back to his seventh incarnation.
"Tea," he muttered, while they landed in the next stop.
The Enallion in the cave whipped its head around to investigate the sound and this gave Jack the perfect moment when he saw a terrified Heathcliff behind him. He ran toward the Enallion and jumped at him, kicking the gun straight out of his hands. Jack quickly regained his balance and beckoned for Heathcliff to hurry toward the Doctor and Lewis.
While the Enallion was distracted trying to retrieve the gun, they all touched Jack's device and vanished from the cave and the threat of the rogue Enallion.
The final cave they landed in was one they needed to be. But, unfortunately, they did not get their in time. For the moment they appeared, they could do nothing but watch as Duchess's arrow sailed through the air and pierced Angela Navarro's heart...
