I walked up to Evan and grabbed his hand. "Either you come with me, or I die here."
Evan pressed his lips against mine and gazed at me. Caleb had been so right. Evan did really love me.
"But, I lied to you this entire time. How could you-"
"Peoples minds can change fast, Evan. You've changed my life and saved so many others."
Evan gazed at me with a forming smile on his face.
"It'll be you and me, Evan. Just come with me, or we both die here in the cold blood of your father." I grabbed Evan's hand to pursuade him. Come with me, Evan. Please.
Evan guided me out of the house and through the window left open for us. I glanced back at the house. It was huge, and so much had been done inside. Too many lived been ruined, and taken. Only an insane person would do that to a girl. Apparently, that was who R was.
I heard Richard continuously bang and ram his body into the door as we ran away. He wasn't going to take us down. No one could.

Evan and I skipped town, hoping to start over with a new life. By then, I didn't care about if my family ever found me. I just didn't want that man to find me again.
Evan and I stayed together in high school, and I taught him how to be a normal person. He'd never gone to school. His insane father had taught him.
Which brings me to wondering why Evan lied to me about his father capturing all of those girls. Did he want to keep me safe and hope I never found out? He had to have known I was too smart, by then.
Evan and I graduated with a good-enough grade and attitude, but didn't go to college. We worked. And worked. And worked. We kept up with an apartment together, raising money for us to move to another state(or another country) to finally start our lives. By the time we were both 26, he was ready to marry me. Or he was just ready to move away even farther.
The entire time, Richard never found us. We were never searched for. Everyone thought we had just become apart of the wind or something. Evan and I lived a full life, thankful for what one girl did for us. She gave her life for someone else to start their own.
And that is why our son is named Caleb.
