"I know who I was when I got up this morning, but I think I must have been changed several times since then"

- Lewis Carroll, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland

_____

Normani walked through the front door to her house without a glance anywhere else. After going to the nurse her hand was cleaned up and wrapped up, and she was sent home. Her parents were called and the car ride was very sombre. By now news of what had happened had circulated around town and the Hamiltons had spent the morning comforting the Cabello's.

They tried to imagine what they were feeling but they couldn't. If they lost Normani they didn't know what they would do. Normani spent the whole car ride wondering, just how much she had missed.

Were there any signs she could've picked up on sooner? What could she have done? She knew the answer to both of her questions.

_____

The two girls sat on Normani's queen bed. Normani flicked through the pages of the latest fashion magazine whilst Camila strummed a melody on her guitar that she had brought over. The Latina's phone had been buzzing lightly every so often and it was beginning to annoy Normani.

"Mila can you either answer whoever it is or shut the damn thing off"

Camila stared at the device and sighed. She picked it up and unlocked, all while Normani kept her gaze on her. Her heart leapt and churned as she read the messages sent to her Tumblr. This has to stop, she thought to herself. She had found her Tumblr.

"What is it anyways that it couldn't stop buzzing"

Camila shakingly turned her phone around to let Normani read the messages. To which Normani laughed at. "Relax, it's not that big of a deal"

"Well call me crazy, but as far as I'm concerned, receiving death threats is kind of a big deal"

"It's a random on Tumblr Mila, don't over think it"

_____

Normani wondered if those death threats played any part in her suicide. If she let them get to her. How could she be so stupid to tell her best friend that death threats weren't a big deal?

She should have done something. Anything would have been better than nothing. Instead, she brushed it off.

Normani thought some more, did she cause any of Camila's pain? She couldn't live with herself in that moment. What if she had by simply growing distant. What if she needed someone or was trying to reach out but instead she pushed her away. Like when Lauren first found Camila's journal. She could have stopped the green eyed girl spreading it around school but she didn't. Too afraid to be the outcast. She bit her tongue and let it happen.

She didn't expect to find out that her best friend was not only a lesbian but also had a crush on her. She had hoped Camila trusted her enough to tell her herself. She didn't expect for her other friends to talk about Camila behind her back the way they did. They spoke with venom but always had a reason. Or at least a reason they could manipulate Normani to believe was true.

Because of her so-called friends, she pushed her best friend away. She let her slip from her grasp all because she was too afraid to be invisible.
