~your pov~

I woke up the next morning rubbing my eyes, smearing mascara across my cheek. Ugh. I glanced at the alarm clock on my bedside dresser. 6:15 AM it read. I glanced at a pile of papers sitting next to the clock. "Kōhī Cafe" Job Application, the paper read.

Suddenly the memories of everything that happened last afternoon and dinner. Running into Tsukishima and Yamaguchi at the cafe, getting the application, the arguing with my brother, crying myself to sleep. I was such a dumbass sometimes.

Beep.Beep.Beep.

My alarm clock went off, 6:30, time to get ready for school. I lugged my self out of bed and shrugged off my wrinkled clothes from the day before. I walked over to my closet and pulled out the school uniform.

I went down the stairs and walked past my brother and grabbed my favorite water bottle. Luckily, Blake didn't look up from his eggs and toast. As I grabbed my school bag of its hook and was halfway out the door Blake spoke.

"Not eating any breakfast?" he asked.

"I'm getting breakfast on the way to school," I lied and close the door behind me.

Leaves crunched beneath my feet as I trudged to school. i plug in my music and continue to walk.

"Hey, (y/n), wait up!"

I turned around to see Sophia sprinting towards me, her satchel bouncing against her leg as she got closer to me.

"Oh, hey," I said, pulling out my earbuds"how's it going, with Student Council and all that jazz?" I asked. (YA LIKE JAZZ?)

"Its going great, just getting busy thats all. How's your life going, with your brother getting ready to move and all."

"It's okay I guess. It'll be different without him but at least he won't always be asking me questions and worrying all the time. Honestly, it's sometimes like he's my shadow or something." i shrug and we start to walk again.

"Eh, at least you have a sibling to bug you. It can get pretty lonely with no siblings," Sophia admitted.

"I wish I was an only child, at least then I would get some peace. Besides you have tons of friends, you're always doing something." i roll my eyes. she always acts like she lonely and that im the popular one. pff, that one of the dumbest thing i've said.

"I guess, but it's not the same..." she trailed off as we reached the school and saw some of her friends from Student Council.

"I, uh gotta go. See you later (y/n)!" Sophia waved as she skipped over to her other friends.

I kept my head down with my hair covering my face as I walked the rest of the way across the courtyard. As I was walking I glanced around to see if there was anything (more like anybody) I should avoid. Then I saw Kuroo standing outside one of the gyms where they held morning practice for volleyball. He was talking to someone but i was to far away to see who.

Curious, I casually walked closer, acting like I was walking to one of the other entrances of the school. As I got closer I saw that Kuroo was talking to some girl. The girl that I saw him holding hands with to be exact. Kuroo had a look of amusement on his face, his hand on the back of his neck and the girl was standing there with her hands clasped in front of her.

My heart dropped to my shoes. Of course it was her. Of course, why would it be anybody else. I turned on my heels and stalked away towards the main entrance. Deep breaths. Calm down. You still have to make it through the day. School hasn't even started yet. I reminded myself.
