Chapter 2

Aurora's POV

I made my way to my first class by myself and ended up being late by two minutes.

"You're late Ms..." He trailed off gesturing for me to say my name.

"Martindale, Aurora Martindale" I say.

"You're the new student" the teacher states, well obviously I'm new, Captain obvious.

"Yeah" I sigh.

"Okay, well just take a seat wherever you'd like" he says.

I sat in the first empty seat that I saw and it was next to some guy who had on a black hoodie and he had his head down so I assume he's sleeping.

"That seat is taken" a deep voice says.

"Yeah, by me" I muttered.

And just as I'm about to sit down the guy who I thought was sleeping slams his foot on the chair.

"No it's taken by my foot. Listen you must be new here so you obviously don't know that no one sits here" he says lifting his head up.

"No you listen" I say pushing his leg off the chair and sitting down. "I don't even want to be here, I didn't come here to make friends or enemies, unfortunately I've already managed to make some" I mumbled the last part.
"And I can tell that you've got this whole loner thing going on, that's cool, I don't care. I just saw an empty seat and I took it, so if you have a problem with it, that's not my problem" I tell him sighing in frustration. I really don't want to be here.

"Whatever, I'm too tired to argue anyways" he says laying his head back down.

I must have fallen asleep in class because I felt someone poking me as if they were trying to wake me up.

"Hey, new girl" a voice says and my eyes shoot open as I lift my face up to see that douchebag who sits next to me.

"What?" I ask rubbing my eyes.

"Class is over" he tells me and my eyes widened as I gathered my things.

"Thanks for waking me up" I tell him as I get up from my seat.

"No problem, so what's your next class?" He asks me.

"Uh, English with Ms. Hayes" I say as I take out my schedule.

"Yeah I have her next period too" he sighs. "But she hates me so I'll be.. anywhere but there" he tells me as we walk out of the classroom. "Plus we're already almost twenty minutes late so what's the point.." he says bluntly making my eyes widen in shock.

"Oh shit" I sigh. It's my first day of school and I've already managed to screw it up.

I think I said that out loud because of what he said next.

"Well since you've already screwed it up, why not screw it up some more? I say we should ditch" he tells me and now that I think about it, I don't really think I'm gonna like this school, ditching might not be such a bad idea..

But unfortunately I had to remember that I promised my dad that I would actually try to succeed in this school, stupid conscience.

"Uh.. I can't, it's my first day here so that probably wouldn't be the best idea" I tell him.

"Oh well, your loss" he says walking off.

I'm so tempted to call him back because I really don't want to go to that class. I remember that Delilah also has that class and I don't really feel like being bothered right now.
