Chapter 16: What's real?

He saw Asuna's shoes and someone else's together in the same bathroom stall. All he could hear was the slight pants of breath from the two people. Rin feeling something he had never felt before, decided to leave...

Asuna was kissing who she thought to be Rin in the bathroom stall. She heard a slam of the bathroom door, which seemed to make her come back to her senses a bit. She closed her eyes tightly and then opened them again to see someone not as tall and even not as good looking as Rin. She said, "W-what the fuck!?" She pushed away Brandon and said, "W-why the hell a-am I here with you!?" Brandon tried to pin Asuna against the wall but, she kicked him in the dick. "Answer me you son of a bitch!" Brandon glared at her and said, "Shut up and just give me what you're supposed to! Isn't this how you had sex with Rin!?" Asuna blushed and slapped him in the face. "As if I'd ever fuck you!" Asuna stormed out of the stall, desperately she went to find Rin. She called out to him and walked all around but, he was nowhere to be found. Asuna took out her phone and began calling him but, she kept being sent to voicemail. She decided to go ask Jenny if she had seen Rin and Jenny responded saying, "Jeez. Uuummmm....I think I saw him walking out a few minutes ago. He looked really upset though." Asuna face palmed herself. She had a head ache, she had just realized she was making out with Brandon in the bathroom, and on top of all that Rin was nowhere to be found. Asuna left the club and went to search outside but, even so, she still didn't see Rin anywhere.

Rin was walking alone. Small rain drops began to slowly fall. He felt a strange feeling. What was this? He felt like someone had taken all his feelings and crushed them in one single second. His world was just shattered and he got an awful feeling in his stomach. He felt like wanting to touch that person he loved so much but, felt like he didn't want to even see them at the same time. He could clearly see Asuna's sweet smile in front of him. He could easily hear her gentle voice and cute laugh. Thinking about all these things hurt Rin even more. He wondered, was this what girls felt when they found out, he cheated on them? He couldn't imagine or believe Asuna would do that. He was having a fight within himself on what he should believe. From behind him, he heard a familiar voice say, "Rin...are you okay?" Sadly to Rin's despair, it wasn't Asuna. It was actually Bella. He kept looking forward and said, "What do you want?" Bella hugged him tightly from behind. Rin felt a comfort in her hug. He touched her hand and said, "Why?" Bella hugged him tighter and said, "I'm sorry she did this to you. You see Rin, you and I weren't meant to love anyone but ourselves. This is what happens when we open up to others." Her words were intoxicating. They were a trap that was obvious but, even so they still had some point to them. What if, what she was saying was true? What if Rin was exactly like her. This touch, this scent, these words. They were all the reasons why he had fallen in love with Bella in the first place. He removed emotions from everyone, after Bella had rejected him. He became just like her. Nothing but someone used for the pleasure of others, no strings, or emotions attached. She was the only one other than Asuna who he had that passionate sex with. He mumbled out, "How did you know?" Bella told him, "She told him, to meet her there...." Rin bit his lip and tried to hold in his tears. Bella never let him go, "Get back at her. Forget anything with her ever happened, and come back to me Rin." He was being tempted. He could feel his heart beat racing and, he could feel the sinking of his emotions. Bella whispered in Rin's ear and said, "I know exactly what you're feeling right now. Rin, commitment can be scary and it can be hard. That's why you should be with me instead of Asuna, we're the same." Rin in an inaudible mumble said, "Asuna....could it be true?" He was remind of everything he and Asuna had gone through, up until then. All the things she had told him, all the memories, everything. The flustered voice that told him, "Rin I-I-I L-love you!" The sweet voice that responded, "Rin, you said you wanted to know my feelings. And that's what I'm here to tell you." The soft voice that whispered to him, "I'm always here for you..." was all that...nothing but lies? Rin was hurt and cried. Bella patted his back and said, "I know it hurts, Rin. That's why you have to get back at her. I know a motel not too far from here." Rin broke out of the hug from Bella, wiping away the tears, and said, "Bella, do you know why I fell in love with you in the first place?" Bella crossed her arms and said, "No....but right now that doesn't matter." Rin shook his head and said, "At the time, you seemed so lonely. You seemed troubled and you didn't love anyone. I wanted to be the one who could change you but, then I realized you felt nothing for me. I thought that by loving you enough you would change and maybe even love me. But, instead I became exactly like you." Bella rolled her eyes and said, "There's no point in bringing that up anymore Rin. Can't you just do to her what you should?" Rin shook his head again and said, "Bella, you're in love with me. And it took you one year to realize it. After all, I am nothing but an over used boy toy right? I'm so easy I'd go back to you in a second and, you had the advantage over all the other girls, right?" Bella blushed and said, "W-what do you mean!?" Rin patted her head like he used to do and said, "I love Asuna. I saw nothing but shoes in the bathroom stall. Yes there's a possibility that Asuna had sex with someone but, until I hear her side, I won't do anything to hurt her." Bella cried and said, "W-why? WHY ARE Y-YOU BEING LIKE T-THIS TOWARDS HER!?" Rin smiled and hugged Bella, "I love her. I'm sorry I couldn't be the one for you..." Bella pushed away Rin and said, "Go....I won't bother you anymore..." Rin nodded and started to walk away but, before taking another step, he looked back at Bella and said, "Bella, I hope you find the person you're looking for..." Bella hugged herself and watched Rin walk away. She mumbled to herself, "You drifted farther and farther away....and until now, you'll finally fade away...." tears rolled down her cheeks but, she knew if she truly loved Rin, then letting him go was for the best.
Rin ran back to where the club was and found Asuna, sadly looking at her phone, just like he found her the day he confessed to her.
