A Second Chance

Chapter 1: The End

Two strong shinobi battled it out. A killing intent radiated off of the raven haired avenger as the blonde kyubi vessel emitted a feeling of determination. The two former best friends and teammates continued to charge at each other neither giving up.

While the two fought a pink haired kunoichi ran through a dense forest with cuts and bruises along her body.

Blood covering her skin and the vast majority of it was not her own. Having fought off a couple dozen enemy nin.

The girl searched frantically for her blonde haired friend. Her worry increasing with every step she took.

Using her advanced chakra control and manipulation she began to scan the woods for her teammate's chakra signature. Having found it she rushed in its direction at an extreme speed that only an elite ninja could do.

Focusing on the location of her friend she suddenly felt a spike of chakra near him. A spike that only one justu could create.

She quickened her pace and as she neared the sound of one thousand birds chirping rang through her ears.

She leaped into the open field where her blonde blued eyed friend stood.

The Sharigan wielder stood triumphantly before his fallen opponent. Holding him as he prepared to deal the finishing blow.

The blonde boy in his hold was nearly depleted of all his chakra and was exhausted from all the previous fights he had to endure before commencing this one.

He was battered and helpless to stop his best friend. But he didn't want to anyway. He was prepared to die for him even if the raven did not feel the same. So he put on a smile, his usual fox like grin as blood trickled from the corners of his mouth.

This surprised the last Uchiha but he quickly regained his composure as he focused his chakra into the palm of his hand. Creating a ball of blue lighting.

"Well I never became Hokage but at least everyone else will be okay..."The blonde spoke.

"Hn, this the end Naruto. You will not get in my way of revenge ever again" The raven haired main said.

"Good bye Sasuke" Naruto replied.
Sasuke brought down his lighting filled hand towards Naruto as he closed his eyes. The blonde waited for impact but it never came.

Splatters of a warm liquid fell on his face. Undoubtedly blood but he knew it was not his own. Naruto opened his blue eyes only to have them widen in horror. He stared at red clothed back with a white empty circle, the crest of the Haruno clan.

Sasuke's eyes were widened as well. Shocked at the person before him. Her short pink hair was stained with her blood as her jade eyes stared at him with a look of defiance.

He felt a tinge of remorse inside him as he remembered his hand that was impaled into her chest. His onyx eyes asked a silent question.
Why?

"S-S-Sa-a-k-k-k-ur-r-ra-a??" Naruto stuttered.

His blue eyes watering upon the sight before, he was overwhelmed with emotion.

Said girl chuckled.

"W-what? You didn't think I would just let you die now did you?" She asked as she tried to choke out her words.

It hurt both of the males to hear her usual bell like voice in such strain and so shaky.

Sasuke retracted his hand from her body causing her to wince in pain.
She staggered but somehow she managed to stay standing on her two trembling legs.

Tears cascaded down the whiskered cheeks of Naruto's face, flowing freely like water down a waterfall.

"Now this is for trying to kill Naruto... Shannaro" she said weakly.

Using the last of her strength and chakra she punched Sasuke. Sending him back a surprising 15 feet.

It caused her to lose her already very precarious balance and she fell backwards into the arms of her friend.  His hot tears falling onto her pale cheek.

"S-s-akura, w-w-why?" Naruto asked her. Disbelief and sadness evident in his broken voice.

She smiled up to him.

"I've always been useless...and I never deserved your kindness...this is nothing compared to what you have done for me. I'm sorry I could never make it up to you...I..." She trailed off as she suddenly felt too weak to speak.

Her eyes felt very heavy and she could not fight it back any longer. Her breathing stopped abruptly and then her heart beat followed shortly after.

"N-n-n-noooo!!!!" Naruto shouted.

He held the girl close to him.

"NOOOO!!! Sakura!! Please!! No! Don't leave me!!" He sobbed as he clutched the lifeless girl to his chest.

Sasuke walked back over to them after recovering from the hard punch he received from the girl on the brink of death.

He stared down at his two former teammates. One crying his eyes out while the other lay dead in his arms.

And that was when Kakashi, their sensei decided to make his appearance.

Upon arriving he felt his knees buckle and fell to the ground. A lone tear trickled down his masked face. He couldn't believe that his female student had died the same way his teammate had. Except this time it was to save another.

So this was the future of team 7....

Naruto and Sasuke fighting like they always had except this time with intent to kill. But in the end it was Sakura who died saving Naruto and was killed by Sasuke's hand. And Kakashi for once in his life regretted being late and not showing up on time....

In time to save Sakura...

But now she was gone....

It was the end of Sakura Haruno.

Anyway, that's the introduction to the story. Sakura gets killed and we all know this isn't the last we see of our young heroine. We know she's coming back in the next chapter.
