So as the pink, raven and silver haired shinobi made their way back to the three training posts where they had originally started from, it was silent all the way until the reached their destination. It looked the same as it was hours ago, the only difference this time however, was the blonde gennin tied to the centre one.
To which Sasuke raised a questioning eyebrow at but said nothing of it. Sakura, with her knowledge of the future already knew that Naruto had gotten busted by Kakashi when he attempted to eat all of their lunches.
She couldn't help but smile at herself, and damnit she was doing a lot of that as of late. But just thinking about all the stupid and silly things her teammate did just made her want to laugh.
The three genin looked up at their sensei-to-be, anxiously waiting for the answer the Sakura knew would soon come.
'We totally failed, even after living through this once I can't believe I didn't change anything.' She thought to herself as she stared at the masked man before her.
She was unsure if she could take the crushing blow Kakashi was about to deliver. When she was a weak and naïve girl who didn't care all that much about being a ninja, it didn't affect her as much. But now, she couldn't anticipate how much it would hurt to have someone crush her spirit with a few words.
It made her wonder how Sasuke and Naruto had felt when Kakashi announced that they should quit being ninjas. Sasuke, the boy who was driven by revenge having the means of getting stronger ripped away from him. And Naruto, the boy who just wanted to be acknowledged by the village he came to love have his dream shattered as quickly as the snap of ones fingers.
"You all look pretty tired and maybe even a little hungry too. But I'll put your minds at ease and tell you that you don't have to worry about going back to the academy." The jounin told his students. "
Naruto pumped let out a whoop of triumph, a big grin spreading across his face. Sasuke grunted, pleased. Sakura, however, said nothing and prepared herself for impact. Her reaction, made the Uchiha raise an eyebrow in confusion.
"Then all three of us...!" Naruto's exciemnet didn't falter, knowing if was finally a true genin. A fake smile steadily grew on Kakashi's face.
'Oh no,' she clutched her knees to her chest, 'Here it comes...'
"Yup! All of you...but one, should quit being a shinobi!" Kakashi finished, the happy mood deflating quicker than a balloon.
Sakura was stunned, "What? Don't we all fail? Who passed?"
"All of you should quit, except for Sakura." He answered.
"Wha- What?" She couldn't beleive what she was hearing, and her teamates couldn't belive how unhappy and shocked her looked, especially her sensei who had given her the good news.
"Quit being ninjas?! What does that mean?!" Naruto shouted angrily at the jounin.
"Okay, so we didn't get a bell, but why do we have to quit?" The blinde continued.
"You punks don't deserve to be ninjas." Kakashi told them matter-of-factly.
Sasuke coud no longer contain his rage and charged at his sensei with the intent to kill. Being blinded by anger, Kakashi easily restrained him and pinned the boy to the ground with no effort whatsoever.
"Why do you think you are placed on three man squads, hmm? Why do you think we are doing this training exercise?" The jounin practically growled at them
"Then tell us already!" Naruto barked from the stump he was tied to.
"Care to enlighten us Sakura?" Kakashi knew she figured it out immediately, she was too clever not to.
